Urban and Cake – A Glasgow Engagement Shoot – Images by Zoe Campbell Photography

Today I am thrilled to share the lovely urban Engagement Shoot pf Laura and Chris from the wonderful Zoe Campbell Photography.

Zoe is a based in Stirling, Scotland but photographs all over the U.K

She shares a little bit about herself and about the fabulous couple she photographed.

“I developed an interest for photography during my time at Duncan of Jordanstone art college (University of Dundee) studying Interior & Environmental Design.”

“After graduating I was asked to do an annual project for the local primary school which involved taking pictures and really got into it.”

“I was drawn to being able to portray personality and character through a snapshot, this is particularly rewarding with kids as they
don’t have the same preconceptions or inhibitions about being photographed asadults do,  I always keep this in mind with my couples and try to bring out their inner child!”

“I really enjoy Wedding photography, I love creating a set of images that revel the mood and emotion of the day, my aim is to for someone to look through the images and feel as if they were there on the day.”

When did you meet the Couple?

“Laura got in contact with me about her wedding  photography after discovering my facebook page, we have quite a few shared connections!”

“We first met in March for a quick informal chat and I instantly knew I’d really enjoy being their photographer.”

Tell us about their Engagement Shoot

“Chris and Laura decided to have their engagement shoot at Glasgow Harbour, they have a lot of fond memories from living together there
early on in their relationship, so the location had a lot of meaning for them.”

“They were a really great couple to photograph, very relaxed and happy, we had a lot of fun sauntering around the quayside.”

“I especially enjoyed our mid shoot break in the local coffee shop, Velvet Elvis, it was a really relaxed and quirky joint , Chris & Laura were very much at home there.”

I also spoke to the lovely Bride Laura about how the couple came together,

How did you meet?

“Chris and I met a badminton club, we both played and became friends before we became a couple.”

When, and how did you get engaged?

“We got engaged on 10/10/10, at home. Chris has just returned from a two week work trip and I had picked him up at the airport at a ridiculous time in the morning.”

“He was giving me some little things that he had bought me when he was away and at the end he gave me a ring box, saying he had one more thing for me, just lovely”

Thank you so much to Zoe for sharing her fabulous images and to the coulple for sharing a little bit of their history. Love the grittiness of the Glasgow industrial background against the lovely soft tones of the coffee shop which are warming much like our people.
