Today I am delighted to share this ethereal floral fashion shoot from a collaboration of West of Scotland Wedding Suppliers captured by Claire Loftus of Aspect Photography Scotland at Mugdock Country Park.
Mugdock country park is located about 10 miles from Glasgow and has a rich heritage.
Once home of the ‘noble Grahams’ for many centuries, the lands have many great stories to tell.
The areas within and bordering the country park supported many early settlers with natural springs, well-stocked natural hunting grounds, ideal land-forms acting as natural defences providing communities protection from the elements and combating forces.
The earthy beginnings of the site, the grand Castle, a fierce looking sky and a fantastic Collaborative team made this an exciting shoot.
Susan Shannon, the talented florist and owner of Narcissus Wedding Flowers by Susan tells me all about the Shoot,
“The aim of the shoot was to provide the creative interior for my new work space.”
“I had ideas about autumnal leaves, a creative urge to make floral clothing, an abundance of original 50’s gloves, a Scottish location and a host of creative suppliers on board.”
“The bridal trends for 2014 see lots of floral designs for the hair as well as in the usual bouquets. I wanted to push the boundaries a bit and let my bridal customers see how they can incorporate flowers into wedding gowns and even more fashion lead pieces.”
“Pulling the whole look together was important and that was the job of stylist Angela Owens” say Susan.
After 3 months of planning, the team set about bringing the idea to life.
Custom headpieces were designed and made by LHG Designs, floral hairpieces were created by Narcissus Wedding Flowers by Susan, models Aimee Louise Owens and Clare Donnelly were selected, gowns were chosen to customise, couture clothing designed and made by Narcissus Wedding Flowers by Susan.
The whole team of talented women was completed by the photographer Claire Loftus of Aspect Photography (Scotland).
“The day of the shoot was hectic but wonderful,” says Susan.
“The team were outstanding and everyone pulled together even when we had a supplier call off. Like true professionals we had a replacement within thirty minutes.”
“Everyone worked so well together – Angela, Louise and I were dressing our models; I was adjusting gowns and even making last minute adjustments in situ.”
“With the photographic talents of Claire Loftus each shot was placed to perfection.”
”Within the woodlands of the spectacular Mugdock Country Park the earth goddesses were captured surrounded by Scotland’s natural beauty. Old castle ruins and out houses became the home of smoke filled mystery and elegance.”
“As a team of wedding suppliers all based in and around Glasgow we have so much talent to offer the bride who is looking for something a bit different and unique.”
Thank you so much to Susan and the collaborative team for sharing their creativeness and this beautiful Floral Fashion shoot with us today.
Its important to look outside the box sometimes to see how flowers can be used in a more unique ways. Brides today want more than traditional and a style that reflects their personality.
I love particularly how the flowers have been used to blend with the woodland giving a very natural feel to the images.
