#ForPIWithLoveFromMe – Raising money for the Philippines – Bloggers Day of Silence

Today in a mark of respect to the people of the Philippines, Plans and Presents are joining up with Utterly Engaged and Ever Ours to raise awareness of the plight of those affected by Typhoon Haiyan 1 week ago..

Today there will be no regular Wedding or Event Post as I participate in the Bloggers Day of Silence.

Watching the coverage on the news our hearts have been touched by the devastation caused by the super storm.

With winds of over 195 mph, the typhoon tore apart cities turning them into rivers and leaving a trail of massive destruction.

The damage so extensive that floods prevent aid that are trying to land and give help.

Without electricity, food or water, hospitals overrun with the injured, medical supplies running out, and an estimated 10,000 dead, Philippines are in dire need of our help.

2 1/2 years ago following the earthquake and tsunamis in Japan,  #ForJapanwithLove was set up and raised over $64000.

Now  Utterly Engaged and Ever Ours are syncing up with ShelterBox again as the organization to donate to.

ShelterBox provide emergency shelter and lifesaving supplies for families around the world who are affected by disasters at the time when they need it the most.

Each large green ShelterBox is tailored to a disaster but typically contains a disaster relief tent for an extended family, blankets, water storage and purification equipment, cooking utensils, a stove, a basic tool kit, a children’s activity pack and other vital items.

A whole box costs $1,000 (US), so they are hoping to raise enough to send at least 3 boxes.

Please help the people of the Philippines rebuild their cities and their lives and DONATE to this really important cause today if you can, every penny helps…
