Today the worlds focus is on Oscars 2014 and the glittering array of A – List Couture and Gems.
Some spectacular fashion hit the red carpet last night and there were many gowns with Bridal influence in white and off white shades with Navy and Black being prevalent too, giving fantastic inspiration for Bridesmaids.
I would just like to share a few of my personal favourites….
Lupita Nyong’o in baby blue Prada – a soft flowing dreamy gown
Kate Hudson in Atelier Versace – Timeless old Hollywood glamour
Cate Blanchett in nude Armani – stunning embellishment
Kelly Osborne in cream Badgley Mischka with lace overlay – serene
Angelina Jolie in Ellie Saab – sparkletastic shimmer
Amy Adams in navy Gucci – structured, classic with clean lines
Charlize Theron in black Christian Dior – statusteque glamour, there are just no words.
Sandra Bullock in navy Alexander McQueen – showstopper
From a jewellery point of view there was some exquisite gems on show too….
Vashi Dominguez of luxury online brand Vashi.com comments “The red carpet calls for dazzling diamonds and The Oscars 2014 were no exception.”
Angelina Jolie complemented her glittering Elie Saab gown with 42 carat diamond earrings.”
“Cate Blanchett also went for an embellished gown (Armani Privé) and wore statement opal drop earrings set in white gold, from Chopard.”
“Sandra Bullock was another actress who added sparkle with diamond earrings – the star wore Lorraine Schwartz platinum and diamond cluster earrings worth $1.8 million.”
“Show-stopping necklaces were seen on Jennifer Lawrence and Naomi Watts; Naomi chose a spiderweb-like diamond necklace from Bulgari, whilst Jennifer showcased a $2 million Neil Lane 100 carat diamond necklace. She also added a diamond and platinum ring and 10 carat diamond stud earrings.”
“Perhaps the most expensive look of the night, Charlize Theron looked fantastic in a black Dior gown with a hefty $15 million worth of Harry Winston diamonds (earrings and a ginormous pendant necklace).”
“Finally, breakout actress Lupita Nyong’o accessorised her plunging Prada gown with a gold and diamond headband, likely to start a new trend, plus gold and rose-cut diamond spiked crescent earrings and an unusual 19th century gold and diamond snake bracelet.”
All in all a beautiful Red Carpet with plenty of inspiration for the woman looking for old style Hollywood glamour to the modern Bride.
