Smooth as Chocolate – Chocolate themed Wedding – Styling and Moodboard

Ever since the Milk Tray man sneaked through a window all dressed in black, Chocolate and Love have been  associated. so a Chocolate themed Wedding seems a natural progression.

Chocolate gives you a feeling like that very first kiss… just melt into it, and it is something that constantly gives you a high or a buzz and that is what marriage should be like so I am thrilled to share some styling and a mood board  to fit the theme.

Being inspired by the chocolate feature wall in my bedroom [ it’s really funny how totally irrelevant things inspire me], I came up with a few ideas for a Chocolate themed Wedding Reception.

The colours of chocolate are varied from the creaminess of yummy white chocolate through to a latte colour, a rich milky brown to the luxuriousness of dark and pure chocolate.

Harness your chosen colour and take it through your theme.

For tablecoverings, start with cream as a base colour.

Then let go in your inspiration with rich chocolate covered table runners, napkins and  chair covers. Or go dark with linens and then lighter with crockery.

Consider gorgeous cream floral  bouquets with accents of brown or chocolate brown ribbon tie the bride and bridesmaid or consider a Crystal bouquet.

For table centrepieces cream florals to compliment the darker chocolate shades in crockery and linens will work well.

For the bride using small accents of the colour such as in sashes or bridal belts is lovely and not overwhelming .

The chocolate colour could be brought through in your choice of bridesmaid gown in whichever complementary shade of chocolate your wish.

For the groom and his best man and his attendants , there could be the choice of either brown suit, tuxedo with complimenting chocolate accessories or if choosing to wear a kilt, McKenzie Hunting Tartan suits the theme.

Then there comes the marvellous choice of wedding cake, or dessert, and what other flavour than  chocolate.

For favours you can get little chocolate favours in a complimentary shade ensuring no colour overload to your table, and a few tasty treats always goes down really well.

Or  personalised chocolate bars are always a winner and can double as a place setting too.

To round off your marvellously extravagent scrumptious reception , you cannot possibly go wrong with a chocolate fountain ( just watch that lovely dress!)

I have had a wee look to find some beautiful products to enhance a Chocolate Themed Wedding.

My spin on a old quote is “Life is like a box of Chocolates but Marriage is a chocolate bar.

You never know what you are going to get in life and sometimes marriage is like that and throws you a few surprises, but marriage like chocolate is something to be savoured and enjoyed.
