Today I am excited to share this beautiful Cornwall Wedding at the Carbis Bay Hotel with navy & gold details.
The couple, Maxine and James were married on the 10th of July 2015 beneath sunny skies and surrounded by love.
Images were captured by Khalile Siddiqui Photography
Khalile Siddiqui is a multi award winning wedding photographer based in Truro, Cornwall.
He says of his work…
“When asked by the career’s advisor at school ‘what do you want to be?’ I replied ‘a photographer’.”
“It was at this young age that my journey into photography began and my passion for it has grown and grown ever since.”
“Since then I have constantly been pushing myself, striving to be better and trying to learn something new everyday.”
“After studying A’level photography at school I went into the printing industry working as a reprographic artist working on such titles as Instyle, Time, NME, Amateur Photographer, Horse & Hound, Country Homes & Interiors and The Guardian & Observer weekend supplements to name a few.”
“During this time, myself and my wife Tamsyn, were living in London and it was the birth of our first daughter that got me wanting to leave this industry and focus on professional photography.”
“She inspired us to leave our home in London and move back to Tamsyn’s native and beloved Cornwall.”
“In June 2007 we created ‘Khalile Siddiqui Photography’ and since then, the business has gone from strength to strength.”
“On a Wedding Day I feel I have 2 roles.”
“Obviously we’re there to document the day, telling the story of your romance culminating with this momentous occasion, capturing the natural fun and beauty of the day, but possibly more importantly, to keep everyone on the day in a relaxed and perpetual state of mischief and playfulness.”
“This allows me to be able to capture the real characters and emotions of everyone attending.”
He says of the couples day…
“Maxine and James came to me about their Carbis Bay Hotel wedding after receiving a recommendation, and explained that they were both actors, with James’ dad being Keith Barron and that there would be other actors like Antony Andrews and Christopher Biggin attending.”
“Tamsyn had a very early start of 6:30am to meet Max for her eyelash extensions (she’d visited the group two days before to carry out spray tans, eyelash extensions and eyebrow shaping prior to the day also) and to do all the bridal parties makeup.”
“My day started with getting some family photos of James and his parents in St.Ives, before heading to the hotel to catch up with Maxine, Tamsyn and the girls getting ready.”
“The best weddings are always emotional, but sadly Maxine and her sister Tasha, lost their mother less than a year prior, and when Anna of Wedding Flowers in Cornwall arrived with the bouquets there were floods of tears as Bennie their mum was with them in spirit and to help mark that, Anna had placed a small picture frame behind Maxine’s bouquet of their mother.”
“A beautiful ceremony followed at St.Uny Church in Lelant just a short drive from their reception venue, the Carbis Bay Hotel.”
“Now, I’ve shot more weddings at Carbis Bay Hotel that any other venue, and every single one of the wedding breakfast rooms looked nothing less than beautiful, but on that day even my breath was taken away when I stepped into the room to get some detail shots.”
“Anna of Wedding Flowers in Cornwall and the hotel really did out do themselves, it was outstanding.”
“Then ensued the speeches and Wedding Breakfast before some couples alone time down at the beach, the cutting of the cake and the first dance.”
“Some incredible fireworks by Trelawny Fireworks brought my day to a close.”
“Maxine and James day was so full of fun, games, laughter and emotion, and the general vibe for the day was ecstatic playfulness, and I was honoured to play a part in it.”
I hand over to gorgeous Bride Maxine…
Tell us how you met…
“We are both actors and met while rehearsing for a play that went to the Vienna’s English speaking theatre in 2013.”
Tell us about the Engagement…
“We were engaged on my birthday July 12th 2014.”
Tell us about the Wedding Planning journey…
“Our wedding plan journey was stress free as I am an OCD planner so had spreadsheets coloured charts etc.”
“We had a firm view of what the colour scheme we wanted and how we wanted it to look.”
“The only difficulty was I lost my mum in the October before so hard knowing she wasn’t going to be there.”
“We got married on July 10th 2015 at St Uny church then Carbis Bay Hotel & Spa.”
What was the best part of your Wedding Day?
Most definitely the best part of our day was the actual getting married and also having all our family and friends there in the glorious sunshine.”
What Advice would you give to other Couples getting married?
“Set a budget and stick to it, and book things well in advance.”
“Be structured with your planning and then it is stress free and do what you want as everyone will have an opinion how your days should be.”
Thank you so much to Khalile for sharing this gorgeous Cornwall Wedding.
I love the glamorous combination of navy and gold as accent colours giving a luxurious feel to the styling.
The florals are stunning and the attached locket so special to the Bride honouring her mother.
A wonderful relaxed celebration in a glorious setting with a incredible backdrop.
