Grace says of the couple and their Essex village hall wedding day…
It’s always lovely when you get to photograph your clients twice, for two really important moments in their lives…
Tiffany and Joe gave me both of those opportunities, when they first booked me last spring to photograph their little girl’s newborn photos, which I absolutely loved doing.
As it turned out, they’re also a cat-crazy couple which meant the cats got involved in their shoot too – no complaints from me!
They adored their photos so much, that they gave me the privilege of coming back to photograph their wedding too.
It’s so, so lovely to be a part of a couple’s journey and their wedding day was just the next perfect addition to their story.
The day began on a high, getting ready at the bride’s sister-in-law’s, with hairdo’s by Yvonne Bone whilst makeup was applied by the lovely Hayley Jessica and Emma Rhi Makeup and Beauty – something of a dynamic duo.
I then headed to the boys to snap a few of the rings (from the notorious Pawn Stars, yes, really, a little homage to their initial plans to wed in Vegas), grooms details, and of course the guys getting ready in their suits from Abigails Collection and the Grooms Room.
As any guys will know, getting ready for anything only takes about ten minutes, and a wedding is no different!
I also got to see their little girl again, who was excitedly babbling and waving to me – it was so crazy to see how much she’d grown from the tiny three week old newborn when I saw her last, in 2017!
When Lewis and I had finished our photos and videography, Joe’s dad took us back to the girl’s to get final photos of them getting ready.
Things became crazily hectic as they slipped into their rainbow coloured bridesmaids dresses in varying styles, and Tiffany got into her wedding dress from MiliMili Bridal.
The videographer, Lewis, and I, then ran back to the guys, where the big red bus from 1965 had arrived, and headed to Colchester Castle for the ceremony.
It might’ve struggled up the hills out of Langehoe a little, but it was so much fun, the atmosphere was awesome!
After a short but incredibly emotional ceremony, and a slightly awkward one too as cannons were firing outside from ‘Invasion Colchester’ which was going on outside, we battled through the crowds so that I could take a few couple photos
This was followed by us taking up a bit too much time and the bus ultimately leaving Lewis our videographer behind, so we all crammed ourselves into the wedding car for a fun ride back to Langenhoe Village Hall, where the reception was held.
After a buffet meal, came the speeches, which were nothing less than hilarious! But there were also some really heartfelt moments there too, and it’s safe to say it was a day full of laughter and many tears too.
We ended the day with some couple photos in the setting sun, which was just absolutely stunning.
