Today I am thrilled to share this beautiful handmade Woodland Wedding in the Cotswolds.
Gorgeous Bride Ruth is a interior designer and brought together a memorable day unique to her and her Groom.
The images were captured by PW Images.

I hand over to Bride Ruth to share the couples story…
How did you meet?
“We met at nursery school when we were 2.”
“We did the school run together but weren’t particularly fond of each other though our families remained friends.”
“We then ended up at the same university and have been together for nearly 10 years.”
Tell us about the proposal
“Stolly tricked me in to what I thought was a business trip to Moscow, I couldn’t believe it when he said it had all been an elaborate ruse and got down on one knee.”
“We had the most incredible weekend exploring the city in an excited haze.”
Tell us about your wedding planning journey
“I’m an interior designer so wanted a wedding that was a blank canvas that we could put our own stamp on.”
“We love visiting Stolly’s family in the Cotswolds and wanted an outdoor wedding.”
“I had always pictured us getting married in the woods as it’s so natural and romantic.”
“We found the perfect woods near them but there was nothing there at all.”
“This meant that we made everything before hand and in the few days before, both families and my incredible bridesmaids helped us basically build a festival.”
“I love arts and crafts so had made as much as possible, embellished my shoes, painted signs, decorated a mirror for our seating plan and cocktails, etc.”
“I also made a hanging picture frame area as a fun alternative to a photo-booth and we covered a tree in sweets and chocolate with a pic ‘n’ mix sign for our guests to help themselves to.”
“Everyone helped us pull it all together at the end and it was so much fun decorating and listening to music.”
Best bits of day
“The ceremony was amazing, it was magical in the woods, surrounded by our favourite people – but it still managed to feel like it was just us.”
“The meal was great fun, our lamb was cooked in fire pits and everything brought to the table on sharing platters.”
“It was also incredible dancing until the sun came up amongst the trees.”
“We had a pizza oven and bar in the clearing to give people fuel (and the sweets of course)!”
Advice for other couples
“Enjoy every minute, don’t worry about the small things because no-one will notice them.”
“It also goes in the blink of an eye, you probably won’t be able to chat with everyone but they’ll just be happy to have been part of your day.”
Thanks to Ruth for submitting her relaxed and fun day.
Love the fun details such as the hanging photo frames and the pick and mix tree against the earthiness of the setting.
There is very much a bohemian and free spirited vibe to the styling and celebration.
