A beautiful relaxed country themed wedding at Stainton Manor Farm

Today I am thrilled to share this beautiful relaxed country themed wedding at Stainton Manor Farm.

Images were captured by Harvey and Harvey Photography.

Harvey and Harvey Photography are a husband and wife team based in Lincolnshire but serving the UK with their wedding photography.

Their style is natural, uncomplicated, flexible and friendly, telling your story.

They said of the couple…

“Nothing says ‘English country’ more than a farmyard and when you plan your Summer wedding on a working farm you end up with something very special indeed…”

“Vicky & John love books. They love vintage. They love travel. And art. Oh, and music.”

“Eclectic tastes mean exciting ideas and building on their time at Glastonbury Music Festival they created their dream country-themed wedding at Stainton Manor Farm which is full of rich texture and colours giving that real ‘working’ backdrop to the happy day.”

“The entertainment had that hand-crafted edge too, with music from DJ 78 and garden games from Tilly’s plus our very own photobooth for their evening guests.”

“Celebrating their love for one-another in a genuinely natural way, surrounded by the people and things that they love. Perfect.”

I hand over to the couple to tell us about themselves, and their day…

How did you meet ?

“We first met through Vicki’s brother who I was friends with.”

“I was out one night with him and we bumped into Vicki and her friend so we talked a bit then.”

“A few months later it was her brother’s leaving do and we met again then and that night she messaged me on Facebook as her brother had wandered off somewhere so she was trying to find him.”

“We’ve been talking ever since, (well, Vicki talking, me listening) as I said in my speech.”

Tell us about the Engagement…

“I booked a cottage in Wales for Vicki’s birthday and two days before her birthday I popped the question.”

“It was in June and the weather had been a bit mixed, some really nice days and some days with heavy rain.”

“We walked up Pen y Fan and it was really windy and a bit cold up there, just before we came down we sat on some rocks and I got the ring out.”

“She said yes and on the walk down we started to talk about where we can get married and where we can go on our honeymoon.”

Tell us about the Wedding Planning journey…

“Our engagement was just over 2 years before the big day, which seems like a long wait at the time but it was ideal because it gave us lots of time to plan, get excited, and make lots of crafts!”

“I love making things and I wanted our day to be as handmade and personal to us as possible.”

“We had to make a very big change though a year before our wedding, would you believe it, the venue cancelled?!?”

But everything happens for a reason and this was possibly the best thing that could of happened.

“Being short notice (for weddings anyway) it meant we had to search a little further a field, but our day wouldn’t have been the same without Stainton Manor Farm, I can honestly say it was the perfect setting for such a perfect day.”

What was the best bit of day?

“The best bit of the day, that’s a really tough one,”

“there were so many little aspects that made an amazing day as a whole.”

“I think if I had to choose a moment, it would be how I felt when I walked back down the aisle holding my husbands hand, in the glowing sunshine and surrounded by all the people we love.”

“We gave our guests bubbles to blow, and it just felt magical.”

Your advice for future couples…

“Everyone has their own idea of what makes a wedding, and everyone you know will have good intentions at heart in giving you their opinions, whether you want it or not!”

“But just remember, it’s your day, it’s your image and ideas, so don’t compromise and don’t worry about what other people think.”

“Your friends and family will be there for you no matter what decisions you make, so go for it no matter how crazy or unconventional.”

“The last thing you want is to feel you have compromised, or you have compromised, or you have regrets.”

“Some aspects of our wedding weren’t traditional or conventional, and a few people didn’t seem to ‘get’ our ideas, but when it came down to the day everyone told us what a wonderful perfect time they’d had.”
