I hand over to beautiful Bride Sandra..

How did you and your partner meet?

We met at a salsa class 7 ½ years ago.

How did he propose?

Daniel took me to Tetsuya’s for my birthday. However, this is not where he proposed!

He caught me competely off-guard by proposing to me on the way back to the car after dinner at Cockle Bay Wharf.

I didn’t even notice that he took me on a detour so I was very surprised by the proposal to say the least!

What sort of style did you envision for your wedding day?

I wanted a relaxed, lunchtime wedding so this influenced my choices in terms of styling.

I wanted to choose a venue that was surrounded by beautiful scenery so that guests could enjoy their surrounds during the daytime.

Allegro Function Centre fit the bill because it has a backdrop of beautiful gardens and gumtrees for miles!

I fell in love with the place immediately, so it was the only place we looked at. I had also heard that the food was sensational there and it was.

This was really important for both Daniel and I as we are “foodies” and wanted our guests to enjoy great food and wine.

For the décor and styling, I mainly chose flowers as my decorations as I wanted to have a garden themed wedding inspired by the surrounds of the function centre.

I also chose décor that was simple, yet elegant.

We decided against having an exclusive “bridal table” as we wanted the day to be about family and two families coming together as one. So instead, we had a long “family table” in the middle of the dining hall.

Tell us about your wedding gown and how you chose it…

I chose a Sottero and Midgely dress called Maui. I remember trying a few dresses and I originally wanted a white lace dress.

However, I noticed that I seemed more drawn to dresses with intricate beading and crystals.

Once I put this dress on, it just felt right and I was getting compliments left, right and centre from other people in the shop, so I knew it was the right one for me.

What was your favorite moment from the day?

Our favourite time was definitely the ceremony and sharing the special moment we became husband and wife in front of our loved ones. Oh, and the dessert was sensational, too!

If you could do it all over again, what would you change?

The day was perfect as it was. We wouldn’t change a thing.

We absolutely loved having a lunchtime wedding and we are so thrilled with how the day unfolded. It was a truly special day that reflected us as a couple.

What’s your most important piece of advice for creating and maintaining a strong relationship?

Above everything else, it is really important to be with someone who shares the same ideals, morals and values as you do.

This will go far in creating and maintaining a strong relationship.

Any tips that you can give to future brides?

Everyone has different tastes when it comes to their special day so don’t be afraid to make sure it speaks of who you are as a couple.

Also, try to relax and enjoy the process of planning a beautiful day.
