A beautiful Winter Wedding in Essex with light turquoise details

Today I am thrilled to share this beautiful Winter Wedding in Essex with light turquoise details.

Images were captured by Ella Violet Photography.

Ella ia a UK based Wedding & Lifestyle Photographer based in Wivenhoe in Essex.

From a young age she used to flick through Vogue, Elle and Harpers Bazaar and dream about creating photos as captivating as the images that graced the pages.

Fast forward a few years and when studying at university one of her friends asked her to photograph their wedding, and that led to where she is now.

She describes her style of photography as natural and unobtrusive.

She says of the couple and their day…

I was honoured to photograph the lovely wedding of Lucy and James at Gosfield Hall in Essex.

Since it was close to Christmas the venue was already decorated with lots of Christmas Trees, which they absolutely loved as its their favourite time of the year!

We were blessed with a stunning sunset around the time I took their newlywed photos leading to some beautiful imagery.

Lucy looked like a real life princess and they had their first dance later in the evening to Beauty and the Beast.

I now hand over to gorgeous Bride, Lucy…

How did you meet?

We met at Reading Festival in 2012 and got to know each other.

We met again 2 months later where we bumped into each other at a party and got on well. We then eventually went on a date 5 months later.

Tell us about the Engagement…

James told me one night he’d never marry me and I got a bit offended.

Turns out the weekend after he asked my parents permission when we visited them and I had no idea.

Two weeks later we went to Edinburgh which was my treat to James as I’d been quite poorly and he’d looked after me.

Second day we were there he proposed at the Botanic Gardens which was a complete surprise considering he said he’d never marry me. Looking back that was to throw me off guard!

Tell us about your Wedding Planning journey…

I’ve never had a big dream in my head about my big day but we both have similar style in what we wanted venue wise and knew it had to be a big country house/manor type and fairly traditional but no church ceremony.

We both love the colour blue so went for a light turquoise colour theme which looked beautiful!

Our day was originally planned for April, however we had to change the date due to health issues but the colour still worked in November!

What was the Best Bit of your Wedding Day?

The best bit was seeing James’ face when I walked down the aisle.

The second bit was of course, marrying him.

What is your Advice to other couples getting married?

My advice to others getting married would be to do what you want.

Take others opinions into account but at the end of the day, it’s about the two people getting married and it won’t be everyone’s style.

Spend as much time as you can together on the day because it is so true that the time flies by!
