Today I am thrilled to share this beautiful Yorkshire Wedding at the Lazaat Hotel with pretty lilac, pink and silver details.

Stevie says of the couple and their Yorkshire Wedding day…
Last August I drove up to Hull to photograph Sarah and Danny’s Yorkshire Wedding at the Lazaat Hotel in Cottingham.
The Lazatt Hotel is a pretty Yorkshire wedding venue in the Hull Area, near Beverley and Cottingham set in 3 ½ acres of elegant gardens, which were once wild and overgrown shrub land,
It was my first time shooting a Hull wedding and I got to see the Humber Bridge on my journey up – the science geek in me was very excited!
Earlier in the year I’d met up with Danny and Sarah for their pre-wedding shoot at Yorkshire Sculpture Park. We’d had such a giggle so I knew their wedding day was going to be really chilled out.
My second shooter, Jaye, spent the morning with the boys, and once the lads were ready they drove to a local park (with an actual WINDMILL!) and they all went a bit crazy, letting their inner child loose on the park obstacle course. They’re all just a bunch of big kids!
It was a little bit more refined back at the hotel. The girls were all chattering away as they got their hair and makeup done as I got busy photographing all the details.
Walking to the ceremony I especially loved the ‘tree staircase’ and ivy walls at Lazaat, so pretty and not your average bridal entrance!
As Sarah was making her way down Danny was entertaining himself by taking selfies. Anything to keep those nerves at bay
I loved the moment they saw each other for the first time, their smiled so much, such a beautiful moment.
After the vows and as they gleefully walked back up the aisle together Danny did the unthinkable, he stood on the back of Sarah’s dress!
Luckily she saw the funny side! She was immediately handed a glass of champagne which helped!
I knew Sarah and Danny would be up for going on an adventure during their portraits.
We decided to go exploring while the guests were enjoying their colourful cocktails.
There was a nearby wheat field and some shipping containers which I knew would be perfect for capturing some magic.
I love getting creative and it’s great when couples embrace that and get silly and spontaneous.
We had such a giggle, especially when Danny tried to practice their first dance in the field!
I hand over to beautiful Bride Sarah…
How did you meet?
We met as many people these days do on online dating site Plenty Of Fish.
Tell us about the Proposal…
It was on Christmas Day 2016 and the ring was put inside lots of boxes, like pass the parcel.
When I opened the ring box, our 2 children shouted “Will you marry Daddy?” and I said yes, of course!
Tell us about your wedding planning journey…
We were lucky and it all went very smoothly, with not much stress.
Everything was booked in plenty of time, with my dress being bought 17 months before the wedding so it was only the last few little details to sort leading up to the wedding.
What was the theme /colour palette of your Day?
Lilac, pink and silver
What was the best bit of your day?
My husband saying wow and telling me I looked amazing when I’d walked down the aisle to him.
What advice would you give to other couples getting married?
Just be organised and then there shouldn’t be any stress. Take in every minute of your Wedding Day because it goes so fast.
