Today I am thrilled to share this stunning cosy winter wedding in Lancashire in beautiful berry colours.
The couple are Rachel and Charlie and they were married late last year in a beautiful family celebration at Gibbon Bridge Hotel in Preston.
Images were captured by Hannah K. Photography.
Hannah shares her recollections of their gorgeous winter wedding day…
“This cosy, winter wedding in Lancashire was the perfect way to bring 2015 to a close.”
“Rachel made a stunning bride in her strapless, sweetheart a-line wedding gown.”
“The joy and excitement she expressed as she prepared to meet Charlie, her groom, carried on throughout the entire day and gave ME butterflies!”
“I first met Charlie and Rachel through a mutual friend before they were dating and it’s been amazing to see their love blossom over the years!”
“I was jumping up and down when they asked me to be their wedding photographer!”
“After 8 years of friendship, Charlie began to pursue Rachel.”
“From Mozambique to California their road took unexpected twists and turns and through long distance dating and living in foreign countries their bond became stronger and their love grew deeper.”
“The bride and groom married this past winter at their home church, St. James in Clitheroe, Lancashire.”
“A ceremony and declaration of their love for one another before God and their friends and family proceeded gracefully.”
“Fairy lights decorated the outer aisles, tea lights in jars and an array of beautiful wild flowers in vases adorned the altar.”
“With songs of praise, scripture readings, prayer and the exchanging of vows, the bride and groom became husband and wife!”
“A warm reception at the Gibbon Bridge Hotel in Preston soon followed with a sit-down meal, plenty of bubbly and a traditional ceilidh!”
“I arrived at the hotel in time to scope out a few locations for the bride and groom’s portraits and to photograph the reception decor.”
“The dining room was simple and elegant with white and cream table linen and splashes of red to match the flowers, bridesmaid dresses and the groomsmen’s ties and pocket squares.”
“My favourite details had to be the jars of delicious homemade jam that Charlie and Rachel gave to each of their wedding guests as a thank you.”
“Each table was named after the various types of jams- such a wonderful idea!””
“I felt like I knew Charlie and Rachel so much better by the end of their wedding day. Not because I was with them all day, but because of the love and admiration, their friends and family expressed for them.”
“The praise of their parents, the funny stories and memorable moments told by their best men and the adoration everyone had for this couple showed me the type of genuine and kind people they truly are.”
“Their love for each other is so much more than endearing, it is inspiring.”
“As the father of the bride said to Charlie in his speech, “I love how you love her.”
Thank you so much to Hannah for sharing this gorgeous winter wedding day.
The contrast of the sparkling white against the deep vibrant berry shades is truly lovely from the florals to the stunning gowns to the awesome wedding cake.
The styling gives such a warm seasonal look without being over festive.
