A Fuschia Pink Cornwall Wedding with pretty Star Wars details

Today I am thrilled to share this gorgeous Fuschia Pink Cornwall Wedding with pretty Star Wars details at the Guildhall in St Ives.

Images were captured by Olivia WR Photography.

I hand over to beautiful Bride Georgie who tells us about the couples Cornwall Wedding…

How did you meet?

“You were working as a barman in a Wetherspoons, when I met you” (sing to the tune of ‘Don’t you want me’ by The Human League)

So it’s not the most romantic meeting, we met in a local Wetherspoons where Chris was working at the time.

I was drunkenly yelling at him about how he knew my ex boyfriend and his brother and as Chris always says when we tell this story, he thought ‘I’m going to marry her one day’.

Weirdly though it turns out (from a photo) that we were at the same party in 2009, five years before we even met.

Tell us about the Proposal…

It was around 1am on Christmas day 2017, I had just picked Chris up from work and he was pretty insistent on opening our stockings (which is unlike him as he is a scrooge) when I got to the bottom of my stocking I found the ring box.

There were a lot of tears involved! The ring was the exact ring I had picked 6 months previously, he had bought it then but saved it until my favourite day of the year.

Tell us about your wedding planning journey …

I absolutely loved planning the wedding and didn’t get when people said how stressful it would be.

We set a date for 17 months time and within 5 months of getting engaged everything was booked.

We chose to get married 198 miles away from where we live and even that I didn’t find stressful, bearing in mind that we did not meet some of the suppliers until the day before the wedding.

Any special touches/DIY?
So whilst we were getting ready my mum surprised me with a necklace that had my Nan and Granddads’ ashes in, needless to say there were lots of tears.

My very talented Mum customised me a denim jacket with ‘May the force be with us’ stitched on and Star Wars badges and also crocheted a Leia and Luke to sit on top of the cake.

What was the theme /colour palette of your Big Day?

Chris is an avid Star Wars fan so we loosely incorporated this into our Cornwall wedding day.

Our invites were Star Wars themed, our tables for the wedding breakfast were planets from Star Wars, our Cake topper said ‘May the force be with us’ and we had champagne flutes with the iconic ‘I love you, I know’ on them.

We also had a Star Wars themed back drop with props like light sabers for our guests to use.

Our colour scheme just kind of happened. I found the bridesmaids dresses almost straight away after being engaged, we went with the same colour but different style dresses.

We then had to work out what colour shoes would go with the dresses which after a few Google searches turned out to be fuchsia pink.

Chris and his best man then went with pink waist coats and cravats and the rest of the groomsman had ties to match the bridesmaid dresses.

The team at the florists was amazing as I don’t even have a favourite flower, we gave them the colour scheme of the day and they took it from there.

What was the best bit of your day?

All our guests walking down to the beach from the venue for our photos, the atmosphere as everyone walked down was incredible.

Also the photos turned out amazing and everyone has commented saying how they thought we had got married abroad.

What advice would you give to other couples getting married?

Do what you want regardless of what others say, it’s your big day.
