Jeff says of the couples day…
When Jo telephoned me about photographing her and Cody’s wedding, I was driving through the Lombardi region of North Italy by Lake Como.
When she said her and Cody had chosen to get married in Santorini, the Greek island, I was as excited about it as they were.
Jo and Cody first met 11 years before and had known each other since they were kids.
Cody proposed to Jo while on a family holiday together in Tenerife in 2016.
They had decided on Santorini for their wedding after seeing photographs of the island.
Jo had flown out twice prior to the wedding and loved Santorini itself and the venue, Santorini Gem. Jo said that she just knew it was right as it gave her such a beautiful feeling.
I flew out to Santorini a couple of days before the wedding to allow for potential flight delays.
Also, this gave me time to take a look around the island and visit the wedding venue beforehand.
On the day Jo wore a beautiful wedding dress – a high lace fishtail gown – by Maggie Sottero.
The bridesmaids’ dresses were from Blue Poppy Boutique and the men’s suits were from Anthony’s Formalwear.
Cody wore a navy blue suit with a pale blue shirt and a navy tie, the best man, ushers and pageboys wore navy blue trousers/shorts, white shirts and blue braces and bow ties.
Jo’s bouquet and the men’s buttonholes were made of roses, while poenies made up the bridesmaid’s bouquets.
It was an absolutely wonderful day from start to finish.
They had a beautiful ceremony, overlooking the Aegean Sea, followed by a sumptuous wedding breakfast buffet.
For their First dance, they chose ‘Tenerife Sea” by Ed Sheeran as this was they got engaged in Tenerife and they love the song.
For their honeymoon, Jo and Cody went to the Maldives as it had always been one of the places they wanted to visit.
Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for one of their special guests who was one of the Grooms childhood friends…
Jo says to anyone planning to get married abroad “Go for it.” Be sure to check everything out first and give all your guests a couple of years notice as its a big expense.
