Today I am thrilled to share the gorgeous Norfolk Wedding of Colin and Wick with splashes of pink and DIY elements lovingly brought together by family and friends.
Images were captured by Tatum Reid Photography.
Tatum Reid is a Norfolk based wedding photographer based in Norwich.
She says, “I count myself lucky…I get to do what I love everyday.”
“I love natural light and try to capture real and emotive images that tell a story.”
“I mainly focus on wedding photography in Norfolk, East Anglia and Suffolk, but also cover surrounding areas such as Cambridge and London (or further afield!)
“However, I also specialise in lifestyle, and boudoir photography.”
She says of the couple and their day…
“Colin & Wick celebrated their Norfolk wedding with a ceremony at St. Peter’s Church in Smallburgh, before moving onto Wick’s families back garden for the reception. They couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day and setting.”
“With hay bales, pink lemonade, colourful potted plans and oversized pink balloons adorning the garden – it created the perfect festive yet romantic atmosphere.”
“Colin and Wick also made sure their guest were thoroughly entertained including bingo and egg-and-spoon races, which certainly brought out the competitive spirit in everyone, and produced quite a few giggles!”
“The night ended with a surprise firework display, arranged by the parents of the bride and groom – much to their and their guests delight!”
“I had to add a picture of one of the most beautiful personalised gift I’ve seen, a framed, hand drawn illustration of the bride and groom made by local artist Aimee Paints.”
I now hand over to gorgeous Bride Wick…
How did you meet?
“We met when we were both on a night out in Norwich at the Waterfront.”
“It was 2am on 23rd March 2008 when we first bumped into each other on the street. Colin had whiskers drawn on his face.”
“From that point on they bumbled along together pretty well (largely as a result of our mutual love for cake).”
“It’s a pretty standard story – dated, moved in together, visited IKEA, got a cat, bought a house.”
“It was inevitable that Colin would soon cave into buying something sparkly for me.”
“However, there have been times when ourr commitment to each other has been questioned (during 20 mile cycle rides initiated by Colin, or battles over thermostat control), but all in all we think we are pretty well perfect for each other.”
When did you get engaged?
“We got engaged on August 1st 2013.”
Tell us about your wedding planning journey
“We started planning in August 2013 and decided to get married at the church in the village I (bride) grew up in, Smallburgh in Norfolk.”
“We planned to have the reception in my parents garden just half mile down the road from the church.”
“The wedding was a ‘did wedding’ and it was a whole family effort.”
“The grooms mum grew all of the flowers for the garden decoration and my mum and I worked together on place settings, buying tables, setting up seating, planning the sweety jars – all the little details.”
“My dad set up the outdoor lighting and organised the drinks for the bar.”
“Byfords in North Norfolk catered for us, and we had an Afternoon tea and BBQ in the evening. They organised and ran the day for us too.”
What was the best bit of your day?
“Wearing the dress! The speeches, our band, egg and spoon race, bingo – everything!”
What advice would you give to other couples getting married?
“Enjoy every second and don’t stress!”
Thank you to Tatum for sharing this stunning Norfolk Wedding Day.
I love the gloriously summery pink palette, and the beautifully handcrafted touches, such as the sweetie buffet and place settings.
The Plant table plan is inspired and touches such as blankets for the hay bales are really thoughtful.
Games in the garden and Bingo for the guests are also fun elements that bring together this amazing celebration.
