A gorgeous same sex Sussex Wedding at Blackstock Country Estate with rustic details

Today I am thrilled to share this gorgeous same sex Sussex Wedding at Blackstock Country Estate with rustic details.

The couple are Naomi and Lucky and they married at this intimate country venue in August.

They chose a summery rustic look with a white and blush palette for their day.

Images were captured by Clare at Fitzgerald Photographic.

Clare Fitzgerald is a Wedding Photographer who lives in East Sussex, near Eastbourne & Brighton; but covers across Sussex, Surrey, Kent & London.

She says of her work…

“The one thing I always aim to do is capture the emotive moments & details of the day that will provide joy & memories for a lifetime; whilst adding a touch of calm & fun to your occasion.”

“This is why I choose to do what I do as a job with a camera; it’s not just about taking photos.”

“To be told by my couples that I’ve achieved this for them is wonderful and fills me with immense joy!”

I now hand over to beautiful Bride Naomi…

How Did You Meet?

“Lucky and I met online. I had finally plucked up the courage to try it and before I knew it, I had met my Lucky.”

“We spent a couple of weeks talking before Lucky spent the summer in Africa.”

“It was a long long 6 weeks (and the biggest phone bill ever) but as soon as she was back we met up. I’ve never been so nervous in my life.”

“Only because I knew I had fallen for her hook, line and sinker!!!! That first meeting was wonderful, it was like we had known each other for years.”

Tell Us About Your Engagement…

“I think we both knew that getting engaged was on the cards quite early on. It just felt right.”

“I had found a lovely ring for Lucky and was just waiting for the right time to ask.”

“One day not long after, Lucky had arranged to go shopping with mum for the day.”

“I decorated the house from floor to ceiling, balloons and banners everywhere. I ordered a great big cake with the words ‘Will you marry me?'”

“Lucky loves cake!!!  and I waited patiently. It was so great, just perfect for us.”

“2 years on, as I woke the day before the wedding, there was Lucky with the most gorgeous engagement ring for me.”

“I asked ‘are you going to get down on one knee then?’ She replied ‘Nahhhh, we’re getting married tomorrow if you like it or not!’ Ha!! Typical Lucky.”

Tell Us About Your Wedding Planning Journey?

“I would say that our wedding planning went very well, pretty much stress free.”

“‘Blackstock Country Estate’ was the first venue we visited. It was fantastic, we fell in love with it straight away.”

“Once that was booked we took advantage of all the wedding fayres that they held.”

“It was here that we were able to find the decorator, make up ladies, toastmaster, photobooth/disco. They all came with great recommendations.”

“That was also where we met our wonderful photographer Clare too.”

“We made a lot of the wedding decor ourselves, with the help of my very talented parents.”

“Mum worked her magic with the flowers, and Dad and I made the signpost table plan, postbox, illuminating letters. Couldn’t have done it without them.”

What Was The Theme/colour Palette Of The Big Day?

“To fit with the venue, we went for a summery rustic look with a white and blush palette.”

What Was The Best Bit Of Your Day?

“For me, the best bit was seeing Lucky for the first time in her dress.”

“My sister had arranged as a surprise, a vintage double decker bus to take us and all our guests to the venue. With the bus full of family and friends, I waited out the front for Lucky.”

“As she came out the house and up the road, I thought WOW!! She looked stunning, absolutely amazing, and she was all mine.”

“For the both of us, at the end of the ceremony turning and walking back down the aisle as a married couple was the most fantastic feeling.”

What Advice Would You Give to Other Couples Getting Married?

“Enjoy every minute. Take your time with everything, relax and don’t stress. If others offer to help, let them.”

Thank you so much to Clare for sharing this lovely same sex Sussex Wedding.

Love the laidback vibe about the day, that’s how weddings should be focusing on the love, togetherness, fun and celebration.
