How did you meet?
“We met in 2009 whilst we were both working for the same company.”
“It was my birthday and a friend of a friend invited Rob along to a BBQ in the park we had to celebrate.”
“The BBQ turned into a night out and we became friends for a few months before getting together.”
When did you get engaged?
“We got engaged on our 5 year anniversary.”
“As we’d bought a house that year we had agreed to not get each other presents, but about a week before I found out Rob had gotten me something (it turned out to be the ring).”
“I had a moment of panic and went and bought him a pestle and mortar for the kitchen.”
“On the morning of our anniversary he made breakfast in bed and whilst I was out of the room to get his present he got on one knee!”
Tell us about your wedding planning journey?
“We found the wedding planning quite simple.”
“We decided on a November wedding just over a year after we got engaged as we didn’t want to wait too long, and we found our venue quickly because as soon as we saw it we fell in love with it!”
“We were determined to make the day ours and in our own style.”
“Everything else slotted into place with a bit of research, and the venue had some great recommendations for the florist, band, hair and make-up.”
“We booked all the big bits early on which meant in the run up to the wedding we were just left with the finishing touches including making our own hot chocolate favours.”
“The dress was a huge turning point as I felt so much relief once it was chosen and I knew it was ticked off the list.”
“Rob chose his suit almost a year in advance so he was more organised than me!”
“Our family and friends were of great support but it was mainly down to us as we both knew the type of day we wanted.”
When did you get married?
“We got married on the 1st November 2015.”
What was the best bit of your day?
“Rob undoubtedly says the amazing food was the best part of his day!”
“We took a while choosing our menu and it paid off because everyone commented on how good it was.”
“For me it was the live music. A friend and her mum played the violin and piano during the ceremony and it was beautiful.”
“The amount of effort they made to make it perfect was incredible and it really made the ceremony personable.”
“We chose songs that meant something to us and it got the day off to a great start and the funk band finished it in style!”
What advice would you give to other couples getting married?
“We both agree that it’s important to not get caught up too much in whats expected of you and what everyone else wants.”
“Its your day and your family and friends should respect that.”
“Take time to see each other during the day, although you want to see your guests please take time for yourselves.”
“We took 20 minutes with a bottle of bubbly and went and sat on the balcony of the honeymoon cottage, it was perfect and we are so glad we remembered to do it.”
“Finally, choose suppliers you have confidence in.”
“Our photographer Clare FitzGerald understood we wanted a relaxed day and we didnt know she was there half the time, she fitted in with our guests and made everyone feel at ease.”
“Our florist Kerry understood how we wanted the venue to look and we were blown away especially with the centre pieces! It was a beautiful day.”
Thank you so much to Clare for sharing this lovely Winter Wedding.
From the lush cream florals of the bouquet, pew end flowers and centrepieces to the inspired ferrero rocher escort card/place names this day is elegance personified.
The beading of Laurens Justin Alexander gown is stunning and love the bold vibrant colour of the teal Bridesmaids.
The couple have added a lovely personal touch with their hot chocolate favours and that naked wedding cake is nothing short of absolutely spectacular.
