A gorgeous Worcestershire Winter Wedding with hints of Lilac and pastel yellow

Today I am thrilled to share this gorgeous Worcestershire Winter Wedding with hints of Lilac and pastel yellow.

Lisa says of the couples day…

met Emilia at her sister Jo’s wedding in 2016 so was over the moon to get a call from her, knowing that this family have a great history in throwing brilliant weddings!

The day was crisp and cold with a beautiful blue sky, little did we know that The Beast From The East was on it’s way and hit just a couple of days after this! We definitely got lucky with the weather!

The day was filled with fun and laughter and I loved the little touches that Emilia and Luke had planned from the hot chocolate to warm their guests, the blankets for frosty toes and of course their gorgeous pup, Jasmine, in her beautiful flower collar.

If photos could warm your cockles, these would be the ones to do it, so grab a hot chocolate, get a hot water bottle under your toes and curl up

I hand over to the couple to share their story…

How did you meet?

Emilia: We first met working at a supermarket a few years before we got together.

I had just returned from uni when we started seeing each other – I loved his smile and positive attitude.

Luke: When we started speaking, I really enjoyed that we could both be ourselves around each other and we had lots of laughter.

Emilia’s kindness and fun attitude was my initial attraction.

Tell us about the Proposal…

Luke proposed in New York in Central Park.

It was the last day of our holiday and I had no idea it was going to happen.

We had been to a family wedding earlier that week so I thought there was no way it was happening on this trip!

I ruined Luke’s original plan as he wanted to go on to the rowing boats but I didn’t bring the cash out with me, so he had to spontaneously think of something.

We ended up stumbling on the sound check for a big concert and sat down to listen and that is when he popped the question.

Tell us about your wedding planning journey …

We booked the barns about a year and a half before our wedding day and thought it was the perfect place for a winter wedding.

They had underfloor heating, outside heaters and a lovely snug area with a fire!

We used a lot of inspiration from Pinterest and to be honest everything just kind of fell in to place from there, purple has always been Emilia’s favourite colour so we knew straight away this would be part of the theme and we both love Disney so that was an easy choice.

We started making the favours/signs months in advance so we really didn’t have any stress – other than finding long sleeved bridesmaid tops – in the run up to our wedding day.

What was the theme /colour palette of your Big Day?

Lilac and pastel yellow with a hint of Disney magic!

What was the best bit of your day?

Emilia: The speeches were brilliant, my sisters wrote a ‘fairy-tale’ for us which included some embarrassing pictures and videos.

We had so many great moments throughout the day I could list so many favourite things.

Luke: The speeches were lots of fun, however my overall highlight was being able to have all of the most important friends and family with us and sharing our day.

Is there anything you would do differently?

Both: We loved everything about our day, it could not of gone any smoother.

The only thing we would have added is a videographer, as we really value watching videos that our guests took.

What advice would you give to other couples getting married?

Both: Start early with the preparation, especially if you need to do any DIY decorations.

We did not feel stressed at any point as we did everything very far in advance.

We would also advise to take a minute to look around your guests enjoying the day, as they are all there to celebrate with you.
