She says of the couple and their day…
“My husband went to school with Simon, so both he and our daughter were also guests.”
“It was the first time I’ve been to a wedding where I was a guest AND the official photographer.”
“The week before the wedding I must have had about 50 conversations with Phoebe “Now remember, at Simon & Martha’s wedding, you can’t just come up to Mummy whenever you like, Mummy’s working!”
“She was brilliant however, waved at me from afar and spent the rest of the time admiring the pigs, chickens and playing “tag” with the flower girls!”
“When I first arrived for Bridal prep the weather was pretty rubbish and poor Martha was so disappointed.”
“As with all my Brides, I reassured her that rain or no rain it was going to be an amazing day!”
“Luckily, South Farm is one of those great venue’s that’s really well equipped to deal with weddings come rain or shine.”
“And besides, I think Brides wearing wellies huddled under an umbrella with their new husband make for great pictures!”
“It rained and rained..Guests arriving got wet…it rained throughout the ceremony…and then when it was time for the photographs, it just..stopped!”
“It was dry for over an hour, which was plenty of time for us to work through all the family shots they wanted along with a 30 minute session for their portraits. Amazing!”
I hand over to beautiful Bride Martha…
How did you meet?
“Like many couples these days we met on an online dating website.”
“Unusually we both came from the same town despite at that time living in completely different places.”
When did you get engaged?
“We got engaged in June 2014 on a road trip holiday round the southern states of the USA.”
“Simon proposed on a hot air balloon ride in Franklin, Tennessee, incredibly having kept the ring hidden for nearly 2 weeks!”
Tell us about your wedding planning journey
“We had nearly a year to plan the wedding and were lucky enough to find our perfect venue almost straight away; seeing South Farm we knew it was perfect for us.”
“From then in we were pretty relaxed about the whole thing, our main focus was for all our friends and family to be able to join and to make it a memorable day for all our guests.”
“Orange was used as a base colour with our favourite bands as table names.”
When did you get married?
“We got married on Monday 31st August 2015.”
What was the best bit of your day?
“Probably walking back up the aisle together after the ceremony seeing all of our loved ones smiling.”
“You can see from our faces what a happy moment that was.”
What advice would you give to other couples getting married?
“Don’t get too carried away trying to make it a perfect day and worrying about the details.”
“At the end of the day what you will take away from the wedding is how happy you are to have married one another.”
Thank you so much to Hayley for sharing this gorgeous South Farm Wedding.
Love the vibrant orange of the floristry and the rustic touches in the styling, and how the couple have taken their love of rock bands and incorporated in the table plan and table names.
How amazing too that the Groom Simon surprised his new bride Martha with a brand new car with a personalised numberplate!
