Today I am thrilled to present the stunning Scottish Wedding of Suzanne and Rick captured in exquisite style by Mike Cook Photography in a tranquil Lochside setting.
Whilst based just outside Falkirk, Mike has undertaken photography throughout most of Central Scotland – Stirling, Edinburgh, Glasgow and beyond. He describes his style as relaxed, contemporary and documentary.
Recently Mike spent a short time with this lovely couple to capture their Ceremony and some stunning portraits, all the more enhanced by the beautiful Stirlingshire countryside near Loch Ard.
Suzanne & Rick actually live in London and prior to the Wedding Day hadn’t actually met Mike, this shows an incredible trust in his fantastic work.
Mike says, “It was a great location to shoot in and there was a real cosmopolitan feel about their Big Day as the Bride , Suzanne spent some time growing up in France, so we were joined by a number of family and guests from across the Channel.”
“The ceremony’s took place at the Port of Menteith church, about 9 miles east of Loch Ard. I have it on good authority (Google) that the church dates back to 1878.”
“The Lake islands have been a center of Christianity since mediaeval times and the historic ruins have a strong sense of the spirituality which infused worship there. Conscious of this precious heritage, they keep the flame of faith alive in the Kirk. The Port Kirk has served the people of Menteith for hundreds of years and the present building dates from Victorian times.”
“Following a wonderful Ceremony, I headed off with the couple to get some portraits on the banks of the Lake of Menteith, before they headed back up the road to Loch Ard, where the reception was taking place in the village hall, overlooking the Loch.”
Thank you to Mike for sharing such a fantastic Scottish Wedding. What a spectacular place to get married and Mike has perfectly captured the couples joy and the roaming and rugged scottish landscape beautifully.
