Today I have incredible pleasure in sharing an elegant Vintage inspired Scottish Wedding which is not only stunning but is also the Big Day of a lovely friend of mine.
Based in Johnstone, Scotland Lyndsey owns Love Created which makes handmade natural Soap and Skincare, using the traditional ‘cold process’ using the finest butters and oils and essential oils.
Lyndsey shares her love story and her recollections of her amazing day,
How did you meet ?
“We met studying together in 2003”
When did you get Engaged?
“When we got engaged we had been together 7 years, living together for 4 years.”
“We got engaged on a camping trip touring the Western Isles and Mainland Scotland, Colin asked me on the 2nd last night of our trip while watching the sunset from the shore in Lochinver near Ullapool.”
“I was amazed to see that he had picked the ring I had pointed out that I loved while working in a jewellers years previously.”
Tell us about your Planning Journey?
“Not wanting to rush our planning we did it over 2 years.”
“We booked a lot of the major things straight away like the Venue, Photographer etc then I took my time arranging all the little details which is the part we most enjoyed.”
“We are both very creative people so enjoyed doing a lot of the DIY parts together.”
What was the best bit of your day?
“Without sounding too soppy, my best bit was when I came in the room and started to see Colins face.
“He kept winking at me, his way of making sure I didn’t burst out crying, which worked as I just kept giggling to myself, he completely put me at ease!”
What advice would you give to other Brides and Grooms ?
“Enjoy every minute of the planning and the day itself as it goes so quickly, don’t get hung up on tiny details as on the day itself these are not important.”
What wedding suppliers did you use?
Venue – The Lynnhurst Hotel, Johnstone
Photographer – Lisa Devine – she was amazing, we had booked her over 18 months prior – the first time we seen her work we knew she would be perfect there was no question.
Humanist – Leslie Mitchell – He made our ceremony so personal to us and so many of our guests have commented on how unusual and personal the ceremony was.
Flowers – Linda McAulay [ Mother of the Bride] – couldn’t have done it without her and the flowers looked amazing!
Hair – Laura Scarff Hair Design – I already go to Laura to get my hair done on a regular basis so knew she would listen to exactly what I was looking for even when I had a slight bridezilla moment 4 days before and wanted to change styles!
Make up – Jacqui Harrow – with myself and my two bridesmaids having completely different skintones, we all looked fabulous.
Evening Entertainment – Stephen Elliot of Disco Therapy – people are still commenting on how fabulous the range of music was, the dance floor was packed all night! He really listened to our consultation on the types of music we loved, and even what our guests loved to make sure everyone was catered for.
Birdcage Veil – Lilybella
Dress – House of Brides
Bridesmaids Gowns – Dessy
Thanks to Lisa for sharing her extraordinary work and Lyndsey and Colin for allowing me to share their wonderful Scottish Wedding day.
I love the pale pink and grey colour pallette and gorgeous vintage influenced DIY’d decor to the day – simple subtle perfection.
