A pretty military wedding at Easter at the Great Tythe Barn with a Mori Lee Gown

Today I am thrilled to share Zoe and Matt’s pretty military wedding at the Great Tythe Barn with a Morilee Gown.

The couple married over Easter weekend in a gorgeous wedding ceremony.

Images were captured by Christy Blanch Photography.

Christy is a wedding photographer based in Stroud, Gloucestershire.

She captures weddings in The Cotswolds, Gloucestershire and beyond.

Christys approach to wedding photography is natural, gentle and honest.

She believes in getting to know her couples, their wedding day dreams and plans.

She likes to fit the photography around your day and not the other way around.

She thinks your day should be filled with memories of mingling and chatting to your guests not looking at a camera for the whole day.

Of course small chunks of photography time are built into your day but its 5 or 10 minutes here and there not big chunks because face ache is real and thats not fun.

I now hand over to gorgeous Bride Zoe…

The beginning – how, when and where did you meet…

“We have known each other for years as family friends and we used to meet up in the village pub after Matt had finished band practice.”

“I used to say I was going to have a drink with my mum as she played in the band, but really I wanted to go down and see Matt, even though we never really spoke to each other until right at the end of the night.”

“Matt got in contact over Facebook in 2014 when I was being grumpy due to a recent relationship and the rest is history…”

Tell us about the Engagement…

“Matt bought my ring when out in Dubai in May 2015, and proposed in August when he caught me off guard by being down on one knee behind my front door!”

Tell us about your Wedding Planning Experience…

The venue – where was your venue and what made you choose it?

“GTB is a stunning venue. I loved that there is accommodation on site for guests in the cottages and that once you. Are at the venue your whole day takes place.”

“Rebbeca and Hannah were amazing from day one and no question was too silly.”

The outfits

“Matt was unable to get home for my birthday due to work commitments, so I wanted to do something that it didn’t matter that he wasn’t home.”

“So mum and I decided to go dress shopping, just to get an idea on styles on what I like and dislike.”

“But I found THE dress that day. 19 months before the wedding.”

The ceremony  Ceremony, readings and songs…

“We had a registrar do our ceromony, which we picked our vows from the options provided.”

“I was so nervous about saying the word solemnly as I always get tongue tied with it.”

“However I managed to say it perfectly. So excited was I that I got it right I messed up Matts middle names nearly leading to us not getting married.”

“Once we were passed this the nerves improved and we were man and wife.”

The Décor

“The decor was slightly Easter themed due to being Easter Monday, however relaxed country style.”

The First Dance – which song did you choose?

“We choose “ I wasn’t expecting that” by Jamie Lawson, as the first time we heard it on the radio in the car, Matt turned round a said “ if I could sing, I’d sing this to you on our wedding day”

The Entertainment

“We had Ollie, who works with Matt play the acoustic guitar to play our ceremony music as I wanted live music for the ceremony.”

“We also had Pat McIntyre play up until our first dance, we had seen him at a friends wedding and really liked his laid back music.”

“My mum surprised us both by arranging the Village brass band “ Aldbourne band” to play a few pieces of music as Matt used to play in the band before joining the Royal Marines.”

“We had Paul Newman from my village do our evening disco as he used to do my primary school discos and I wanted all the classics for the end. I wanted to be doing “superman” dance in my wedding dress “comb your hair…”

“We had a photobooth which was great fun. Everyone seemed to enjoy them selves and we liked that everyone got a copy of their picture to take home and we got a book with all the pictures and messages from our guests.”

Words of Wisdom – any advice for future couples?

“Don’t move house two weeks before you get married – unless you’re completely insane like us.”

“But all the stresses running up to the wedding completely disappear on the day and it really is the best day of your lives!”
