Today I am thrilled to share this pretty Sussex Wedding with a Steampunk and Alice in Wonderland Twist.
Images of the day were captured by Fitzgerald Photographic.
Clare Fitzgerald is a Wedding Photographer who lives in East Sussex, near Eastbourne & Brighton; but covers across Sussex, Surrey, Kent & London.
She says of her work… “The one thing I always aim to do is capture the emotive moments & details of the day that will provide joy & memories for a lifetime; whilst adding a touch of calm & fun to your occasion.”
“This is why I choose to do what I do as a job with a camera; it’s not just about taking photos.”
“To be told by my couples that I’ve achieved this for them is wonderful and fills me with immense joy!”
I now hand over to beautiful Bride Georgina…
How did you meet?
“We met through a martial arts club, and it went from there.”
“We got engaged in January 2015.”
Tell us about your wedding planning journey?
“We started planning our wedding about November for our April wedding as neither of us wanted to spend a long time planning it!”
“We wanted something different, informal and certainly not traditional!”
“I had always been keen on an afternoon tea party and a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party just seemed perfect for us to dress in a Victorian style with a mix of steampunk.”
“Then we began by looking at venues”
“We knew we would marry at the Eastbourne registry office in the Council Chamber room which was beautiful and fitted in with our theme perfectly.”
“Through a friends recommendation we found the village hall in High Hurstwood which was also perfect for our recepton.”
When did you get married?
“We had a Spring Wedding getting married in April 2016.”
What was the best bit of your day?
“The town hall bells tolling at the point of our vows was quite special as it marked the exact moment we married.”
“We also loved the comments we got from guests regarding the details and decorations we had put together for our celebration and made the effort so worthwhile.”
What advice would you give to other couples getting married?
“Don’t get bogged down in the little details on the day.”
“Things will never go according to plan completely so if you allow for this you’ll have a much happier and stress free day.”
“Go with what you want not what pleases other people. It is your wedding day not theirs and yours to enjoy however you want. In the end, everyone will have a lovely time.”
“To make things personal I would also advise couples to try to make or organise as much as they can themselves.”
“We found not only did it save money but makes it all so much more personal and more meaningful in my opinion.”
Thank you so much to Clare for sharing this fabulous Sussex Wedding.
So much detail has gone into the table styling and just love the Brides gown. So lovely to have something so special made by your mum.
