Today I am thrilled to share the gorgeous Same Sex Tea Party Themed Wedding of Kerry and Lisa at Bashall Barn.
Images of the day were captured by Kerry Woods Photography.
Photography has been a hobby and passion of Kerry Wood’s for a very long time.
Her first photography class was taken as part of her Duke of Edinburgh Bronze award whilst at school.
16 years on she decided to take the plunge and put herself out there as a professional photographer.
She now provides Wedding, Portraiture, Commercial and Event Photography across the North West of England, specialising in weddings & portraits.
Her style is relaxed & informal with an aim to capture beauty & emotion and create visually stunning, natural images that tell each story.
I now pass you over to the lovely Lisa to tell you about them…
How did you meet?
“Myself and Kerry met at a pub, where we were introduced by a mutual friend.”
When did you get engaged?
“We got engaged on Christmas Eve 2013.”
Tell us about your wedding planning journey
“We decided we wanted a summer time wedding with a tea party theme.”
“We didn’t want too formal of a day.”
“We wanted everyone to feel relaxed and to enjoy themselves.”
“We also wanted the wedding to have a slight vintage feel.”
“Rather than having normal favours we chose cups and saucers for our guests because it was fitting to the theme.”
“We also had bunting up in the room to give that vintage feel.”
“Rather than having a normal seating plan we chose to hang keys off a board for another little keepsake for our guests.”
“We also chose to have large lit up ‘love’ letters on the dance floor which really looked amazing on the pictures.”
When did you get married?
“We got married on the 13th September 2014 at Bashall Barn in Clitheroe.”
What was the best bit of your day?
Lisa: “There wasn’t a best bit – I loved it all.”
Kerry: “The best bit of my day was the ceremony itself, it was lovely that the weather held up for us and we could have it outside with a goat looking on!”
What advice would you give to other couples getting married?
“Don’t let the stress of organising take away from what the day is all about.”
“Make the day personal to yourselves and don’t do it to please others.”
Thank you so much to Kerry for sharing this elegant Wedding Day.
I love the gorgeous tones of purple and blush that flow throughout the day … so pretty, and Kerrys suit is so chic!
The key place names are inspired and teacups are the perfect dual purpose favour.
The Big Letters just round off a wonderful day by saying it how it is…LOVE!
