A Stunning Garden Elegance inspired Wedding at Bend of the River

Today I am thrilled to share a stunning garden elegance inspired Wedding at Bend of the River in the Gold Coast.

Images were captured by Daniel Suarez Photography.

I hand over to Bride Nyomi…

How did you meet?

Leith and I met in 2014 on a dating website called Plenty of Fish.

Tell us about the Proposal…

We spoke about getting married, decided to, and there was no proposal. We were not entirely conventional in our wedding journey.

It was interesting watching friends and family get their heads around us being engaged and planning a wedding without the proposal part.

Leith did ask my parents for my hand in marriage though. Maybe I will get a proposal post the wedding!

Tell us about your Wedding Planning Journey…

We started planning our wedding in the weeks break of Christmas 2017 and quickly realised there was a lot of work to do in planning even a small DIY wedding.

Only our bestest of friends and family were to be present – 39 including us.

The theme was garden elegance with the stunning venue of Bend of the River being all the decoration and the colour palette needed.

We accentuated with lots of flowers, white linen, candles, lace, and old style glassware.

Tell us about your favourite part of the day…

The best part of the day for me was my husbands display of emotion when first seeing me in my wedding dress and in doing his speech.

I was so pumped to be finally finding the love of my life and getting married at 41 years of age. I felt great joy all day.

Is there anything you would do differently?

I would ask more people for help, try and make Leith help more, give myself a few extra months to plan, and be more direct with some of our wedding suppliers about what we wanted.

What advice would you give to other couples getting married?

Spend time together on your wedding day. A good friend gave us this advice and we are glad we took time on our amazing day to enjoy and look around together.

We were in awe of our special day and how incredibly it had come together.

We also went out to lunch together 2 days before our wedding to sit and be excited together for an hour amongst all the chaos of what the pre-wedding journey brings.

Thank you to Daniel and the couple for sharing this glorious garden elegance inspired Wedding Day.

Bend of the River is a hidden Gem on the Gold Coast and such a magical place, and was the perfect location for the couples relaxed family focused celebration.
