A stunning James Bond inspired Wedding at Gate Street Barn with a Suzanne Neville Gown

Today I am thrilled to share this stunning James Bond inspired Wedding at Gate Street Barn with a beautiful Suzanne Neville Gown.

The couple are Holley & Mark and their day had a bit of 007 panache written all over it.

Images of the day were captured by Nick Rutter Photography.

Nick shares his recollections of the couple and their day…

“I’m very good friends with Matt as well as his partner, Natalie who I used to work with in my web developer/Graphic Design days.”

“He asked me to do a family shoot with their little girl and mentioned that his sister Holley was getting married and wondered if I was available.”

“I happened to be available and Holley and Mark came down from Chobham in Surrey apparently not even seeing my work.”

“Normally I would be a little uneasy about this and I did ask though why they didn’t check out my work first and also why they haven’t seen other photographers to see what was out there.”

“They said in reply “Matt said you’re the best and thought very highly of your work so we want to book you”.

“A total honour and totally flattered!”

“We went to Virginia Water near where they live in Surrey for their engagement shoot to get them used to the camera, not that they needed it as they looked awesome.”

“Holley is simply stunning but she did say as a couple they both hated their photo being taken which was such a surprise given what a good looking couple they are, however I was up for the challenge!”

“We kept it pretty relaxed and natural and looking back at the photos around the waterfall in that gorgeous sunlight, they both looked like the could be models!”

“Hearing their wedding day plans at our initial meeting was really exciting.”

“Mark and Holley’s wedding had a vintage feel with elements of silver screen glamour & 1960’s James Bond.”

“Matt being a graphic designer (Glassup and Stoski – awesome!), designed all of the James Bond Themed table centre pieces, along with all their wedding signage, the table plan with bespoke logo of St Lawrence Church that they married at in Chobham and also the order of service.”

“The James Bond theme continued with Mark’s tailor-made bespoke grey suit which has to be the nicest suit I have ever seen at a wedding! Mark went all out!”

“It was worn by Sean Connery in Gold Finger, made by the same tailors – Anthony Sinclair.”

“It made for some great photos of Mark detailing the suit with his 355 Ferrari Berlinetta.”

“Both Mark and Holley have grown up loving sports cars and Holleys Dad owning a number, along with Holley’s brother Matt and Mark loving their cars so this was a big feature of the wedding day with Mark driving to and from the church in his 355 Ferrari Berlinetta (made in 1994) and also some of Marks friends in a red and also a black Ferrari.”

“Holley’s dad arrived in his 1970 Red Ford Capri – a main feature of the wedding which included stopping traffic for an amazing burn out down Chobham high street, driven by Mark to the amusement of everyone and leaving loads of smoke behind!”

“I had to be pretty ninja and unobtrusive during the ceremony due to restrictions imposed by the Vicar but I did what I could in the initial part of the aisle along with Videographer (and best in the business), Alex from Wedding Memories who I recommended to Mark and Holley to capture those special moments.”

“Following the ceremony all of the wedding party and guests arrived in the sports cars and their own cars to the beautiful Gate Street Barn after the awesome burn out down Chobham high street.”

“This was my first time to the venue but hopefully not the last.”

“Gate Street Barn lies in a secluded setting of the Surrey Hills, 5 miles south of Guildford.”

“It was built in the traditional style using wood from oak trees lost in the area in the 1987 hurricane.”

“It’s a really stunning barn with lots of photo opportunities around the grounds and the room looked superb with the vintage, slightly rustic and James Bond Theme.”

“The decorations were all home made or self-sourced featuring hand stitched table runners, home made ‘forget me not’ wedding favours for the ladies & 007 cuff links for the guys.”

“They had a number of vintage crates used to create the refreshment stand which was such a good idea as well as silver lanterns & tea lights scattered around.”

“We spent some time before all the guests arrived, after the speeches and later in the evening, really making use of the cars and Marks Anthony Sinclair suit.”

“Into the evening also saw a great idea for extra entertainment with a ‘Slow mo‘ video area, a great band called Soul Calibre and Mark surprising Holley before their first dance, singing Frank Sinatras “The best is yet to come.”
