She describes her work as. unobtrusive, natural and artistic capturing love and looking to create a narrative of wonderful little moments, of tangible memories, little treasures to keep safe.

The couple tell us their story…

How did you meet?

We met in 2007 while studying for our Fine Art degrees at Gray’s School of Art in Aberdeen.

Tell us about the Proposal…

We got engaged in December 2014. Philip had it all planned out and I was completely in the dark.

We had organised to meet after work to “go for dinner” but in fact, bags had been packed and a suite had been booked at The Scotsman Hotel.

It had a beautiful bay window looking over the Christmas markets and Philip popped the question.

After we’d both calmed down, we went for dinner at The Gardener’s Cottage.

Tell us about your wedding planning journey…

We took some time to get the wedding planning bug as it didn’t come very naturally to either of us.

We had a rough idea of the style we wanted to go for and went to a couple of wedding fairs run by The Glasgow Wedding Collective which helped flesh these ideas out.

We only saw 3 venues and as soon as we visited The Byre at Inchyra, we knew that was the one!

Any special touches/DIY?

We tried to do quite a lot ourselves including our invites, wedding favours and much of the decoration.

As The Byre is a “blank canvas” venue, we had a lot of flexibility to dress the room as we wanted it.

What was the theme /colour palette of your Big Day?

There was no set theme for our day but we wanted a lot of flowers and colour and Kathrin at White House Flowers made that happen!

What was the best bit of your day?

We both loved our ceremony which was made incredibly personal by our celebrant, Sandy Geddes.

What advice would you give to other couples getting married?

Relax and remember it’s your day!

Everyone is there to help you celebrate so don’t spend time fretting or trying to make everything perfect.

And a great piece of advice one of the owners at our venue gave us was to take 10 minutes to ourselves – we took that advice and wandered off together sometime in the evening.

It was lovely to step back and actually speak to one another (before we got back on the dancefloor)!
