A Victorian Gothic inspired Nottingham Wedding with black and red details

Today I am delighted to share this stunning intimate Victorian Gothic inspired Nottingham Wedding with black and red details.

Images were captured by Simon Dewey Phototgraphy.

Simon Dewey is a Documentary Wedding Photographer based in Derbyshire.

Your wedding is unique, and its his mission to get to know you and find out what’s important about your big day.

That way he can capture the true atmosphere, emotions & stories of your wedding day.

I hand over to beautiful Bride Colette…

How did you meet?

We met after a mutual friend introduced us.

Tell us about the Proposal…

We were spending the day together with another friend, but she left us alone on a park bench to go buy something.

Graham began to tell me why he loved me, got down on one knee and proposed.

Tell us about your wedding planning journey…

Trying to save money for the ‘perfect’ wedding was difficult, and after 10 years of being together we thought being married was more important than a big fancy wedding.

We decided to just have a small simple wedding, which turned out to be perfect for us.

What was the theme /colour palette of your Big Day?

Our theme was red and black Victorian gothic.

Any special touches/DIY?

Most of the wedding was DIY and all the favour boxes, decorations and bouquets were handmade.

My favourite special touch was the wedding cake topper, and my dress was custom made.

What was the best bit of your day?

I think it was agreed that the best part was when I walked down the aisle.

It was the first time Graham had seen my dress and the smile that was on his face made me so happy.

What advice would you give to other couples getting married?

Be yourselves. Even if it means being weird together.
