Today I am thrilled to share this beautiful Wintertime Loch Lomond Wedding at the Cruin with an outdoor ceremony, a handfasting and a canine ringbearer.
Images of the day were captured by Imagine Images.
Ross of Imagine Images shares his recollections of how the team met the couple, and their Wedding Day,
“We met Calum and Stephanie initially at a wedding fayre in the early part of September, just short of 4 months prior to their wedding day.”
“When we visited them a few days later, it was good to get a fuller chat with them about their big day – we even got to meet their dog, Heidi, who would be the ring bearer on the day.”
“One of the most memorable parts of Calum & Stephanies wedding was their outdoor ceremony.”
“It was a bit cold, but the setting was absolutely stunning, and it was a true pleasure to be part of this beautiful service.”
“Calum & Stephanie had decided to incorporate their beautiful dog Heidi in to their wedding ceremony and it was great to see her perform the duties as ring bearer!”
“We couldn’t resist using the stunning backdrop of the Loch for some further pics and so after a quick glass of champagne by the heat of the fire we headed back outdoors for the family shots before heading down to the pier!”
“It was then back into the heat of the venue for the speeches and wedding breakfast before the band started and the evening entertainment began!”
Gorgeous Bride Stephanie tells us her Love story,
How did you meet?
“We first met on a night out in Glasgow at a mutual friend’s birthday in September 2007.”
When and how did you get engaged?
“We were on holiday in Antigua in June 2012. Calum persisted on going to the famous Shirley Heights where a steel drum band was playing for the sunset.”
“Calum then got down on one knee at sunset and proposed with a coconut ring.”
“At first I thought he was joking but quickly said yes!”
Tell me about your Planning journey.
“We knew we wanted to have an intimate wedding and Loch Lomond was the only setting we considered – it means a lot to both of us.”
“Winter was perfect for us because we knew the setting would be gorgeous at any time – and Scotland’s summer has no guarantee of sun!”
“It was a great thing to look forward to after Christmas and meant we started the New Year as husband and wife.”
“I knew I wanted a simple wedding and so did quite a bit myself, including taking over two hundred candles to the venue and adding festive things such as mulled wine after the ceremony and a hot chocolate stand.”
“I knew what kind of dress I wanted and was lucky enough to find it and add some sleeves to keep in theme with the winter aspect.”
When was your Wedding Date?
“We got married on 29th December 2013 at the Cruin, Loch Lomond.”
What was the best bit of your day?
“The whole day was wonderful – especially when Heidi (our dog) delivered our rings during the ceremony – but the ceilidh dancing was traditional and so much fun.”
Thank you so much to Ross for sharing this beautiful Loch Lomond Wedding.
I love the soft pink and white colour scheme as it just encapsulates winter, and all the twinkling of candles, such a fresh, crisp look.
I also love the views over Loch Lomond, such amazing scenery.
And who could not fall in love with the gorgeous Heidi…every wedding should have their own Canine ringbearer.
