She says of the couple and their day…

I was fortunate enough to have worked with Danielle and Steve before at their close friends Sam and Martins, wedding 2 years previous where Danielle was a bridesmaid.

We had such a fun day together and was thrilled when she got in touch to ask if we were free for her wedding day at Northbrook.

Our final wedding of the year went out in style at the romantic country estate Northbrook Park in Farnham, Surrey.

It was a fresh Autumn day with all the colours of the season adorning the house like you would expect for an October wedding.

The rooms were dressed with accents of pink throughout on the cake, the flowers, even the brides beautiful dress.

The whole day went without a hitch and Danielle and Steve said their I-Do’s in-front of their nearest and dearest loved ones, both bride and groom had penned their own vows and beamed as they recited each line.

It was one of those really relaxed weddings, where Danielle and Steve chatted with their guests, captured some fun family group photographs and moved on from the Vine Room to the Orangery where we laughed and laughed during the bridal party photos.

The day moved swiftly into their meal, speeches, cutting of the cake and onto the first dance.

There are moments at every wedding we do that are embedded in our memories – even after 100’s of weddings we have photographed, there is still something new to experience!

The couple wanted a sparkler finish with their besties bridal party and so started 10 minutes of laughter – the kind of laughter you cannot see what you are doing as you have tears in your eyes!

We created beautiful silhouette photos first against the Manor House and then added a variety of sparkler shots – twirls, swishing sparklers and of course trying to write words in the air!

My favourite was the Love writing from bridesmaid Sam – perfect way to finish their day and their album!

I hand over to beautiful Bride Danielle…

How did you meet?

It’s very cliché! My very good friend Sam asked me to go to a gig with her – to see this band she really liked.

I went along with her and we got chatting to the band after the gig.

Steve was the drummer and we got talking and it just went from there.

As we got to know each other we realised we were one year apart at the same primary school and both our mums had a whole school photo we are both in!

Tell us about the Proposal…

It was around Christmas time. We were putting up our tree on a Sunday afternoon and the house was feeling really Christmassy.

I thought Steve seemed a little on edge, he called me into the living room and rather nervously thrust the ring at me and asked me to marry him.

He later confessed he was trying to tuck the ring box under the settee as I was coming in but it wouldn’t fit.

Tell us about your wedding planning journey …

We are both really relaxed and knew we liked more of a modern twist.

We visited Northbrook Park on their open day and both loved it, and luckily were able to book the last date they had available.

We booked Jacaranda for our catering and they were absolutely brilliant. They managed the whole day and Johnny was amazing.

Any special touches/DIY?

My mum had some of the lace flower detail from my grandma’s dress sewn into hers.

I loved that she had a tiny piece of her own mum’s dress on her wedding day so I took that tiny piece of lace along with a piece of lace from my mum’s dress and had them both sewn into mine which meant a lot to me.

My grandma made the fruit cake layer of our wedding cake in the same cake tin she used to make my mum’s wedding cake.

It was really important to have a piece of my mum with me on our day having lost her 18 months before.

What was the theme /colour palette of your Big Day?

Our colour palette was Blush pink, and Gold

What was the best bit of your day?

When I first saw Steve standing at the end of the aisle. I was so nervous but seeing him just made me excited to get married.

Is there anything you would do differently?

No. It was better than we could have imagined.

What advice would you give to other couples getting married?

Make sure you put what you and your partner want first, and try not to put too much pressure on yourself to please everyone.

Enjoy the process and don’t sweat the small stuff!
