Golden Thistle – Real Wedding Feature – Rebecca and Colin – Images by Pete Barnes Photography

Today I am delighted to share the gorgeous Wedding of Rebecca and Colin captured by the lens of the fabulous Pete Barnes Photography.

Based in Wakefield Pete Barnes Photography offers contemporary, professional, reportage wedding photography with traditional elements.

Pete shares his recollection of the couples Big day,

“A couple of weeks ago we provided the wedding photography for Rebecca & Colin at the Hey Green Hotel in Marsden near Huddersfield.  The wedding was at Linthwaite church which was just down the road from where Rebecca was getting ready so at first we stopped off for some bridal prep shots.”

“We were greeted with the smell of bacon butties at the brides parent’s, which we were offered but had to decline and get down to the photos, this took some will power believe me!  Everyone was jolly and looking forward to the day.”

“When the time came for the ceremony, the church was awash with smiles.”

“Rebecca was beaming and smiling all day, which really stood out in the images.  Colin hailed from Scotland so he had on his kilt, sporran and Sgian Dubh (I won’t go itno how long that took me to find out how to spell!).  Again all these cool  little details were great for photos for making the day memorable.”

“The couple had also got in a piper to lead them out of the church and play for guests arriving at Hey green which was a nice touch. Both bride and groom were great, very friendly and relaxed and didn’t get rattled when the heavens opened just before the end of the ceremony.  Luckily the rain stopped and we were able to get some shots outside.”

” There was a bit of a lake just down from the hotel we were keen on getting some shots at, I’d said to the bride it might be an idea to have some trainers just in case the ground isn’t the best after the rain, turned out to be a good idea.  I managed to almost dunk myself in the water (again) going for one of the shots but we were ok and got some good ones down by the water.”

“Then followed a lavish Wedding breakfast and a wonderful Cupcake Tower.”

” The brilliant day was rounded off by a bit of a jig!”

Thanks to Pete for sharing his fabulous images.

For a Scot like me, anything that involves, Kilts, thistles and the like is always going to be a winner, it really makes a Wedding and it was great to see the Groom embrace his Heritage away from home and also the incorporation of thistles into the beautiful Bouquet.
