Today I am delighted to share this lovely Glasgow Wedding with purple accents at the Grand Central Hotel.
Images were captured by Duncan McCall Photography.
Duncan McCall is originally from Lochwinnoch near Glasgow and is now based in Newcastle upon Tyne.
With family still in Renfrewshire he has a great base to cover weddings all over Scotland and is looking to increase his Scottish weddings.
Having enjoyed photography for many years and after photographing a few friends weddings he decided to go full time a few years ago and has loved every minute.
He worked as a Graphic designer for over 12 years and this design background really helps him create visually stunning photography.
His style is vibrant colours and strong contrasts that really make the images stand out.
He says of his work….”On the day I document your wedding with a creative story telling style and do this in an unobtrusive manner to really let the true story of your day unfold.”
“I also love creating stunning couple portraits that really have the WOW factor.”
“This is a good time for myself and the couple to take a small break from the wedding party and create some photos that will be enjoyed for years.”
“Couples really enjoy this part of the day as its done in a relaxed way and gives the couple a chance to reflect on the day.”
I pass over to the beautiful Bride Christine…
Where did you meet?
“We were set up by mutual friends on a blind date. We went to Helensburgh.”
“That was in July 2008.”
Tell us about the Engagement
“One evening in March 2009 Russell took me up to Duck Bay after work.”
“It was pouring of rain and he got out the car and went down on one knee.”
“I actually don’t think he managed to get the words out i was like get fricking up and back in the car!!”
“So not as romantic as perhaps Russ planned!”
Tell us about your wedding planning journey :
“Not really a journey as such, it was very straightforward.”
“We went to the Grand Central Hotel for a wee look and due to our rough numbers we needed the ballroom.”
We booked that in September 2012.”
“Then we never really did anything further tilluntil 6 months before the wedding and then it was all systems go!”
“I chose my Dress from Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo in January 2014 and a week later all the Bridesmaids dresses were ordered.”
“Then each week it was something else ticked off the list until we had it all done!”
When did you get married?
“We got Married on July 4th 2014.”
What was the best bit of your day?
“For me it was seeing so many of both families together in the one place. Normally we are at do’s for either side but not all together so that was my favourite thing.”
What advice would you give to other couples getting married?
“I think probably to keep it reflecting on yourself as a couple, and keep it personal.”
“It is so easy to get caught up in trying to please others and then ultimately does not become about the couple.”
“I think by the day before or certainly morning of the wedding you just have to let go and accept what will be will be and try absorb as much as you can as it over in a flash.”
Thank you so much to Duncan for sharing this beautiful Glasgow Wedding.
I love this city Hotel, so chic, and with amazing spaces and gorgeous architecture.
Love the Brides wee touches with purple heart favours, a personal gift to guests that will stay in guests memories, and the florals are exquisite.
