I hand over to Becky to tell us a wee bit about herself…..

Who are you, and what do you do?

“I am Becky and I design and create a whole host of beautiful goodies from branding to wedding stationery and even the odd dinosaur 5th birthday invitation!”

When and why did you start your Company?

“I started Becky Lord Design in 2009.”

“I adore designing. I’m such a type and paper geek so it was a completely natural step!”

“I studied Graphic Design at Lincoln School of Art & Design and pretty much refused to settle for anything other than an art based career.”

“My wedding stationery boutique was launched in 2012 after having FAR too much fun creating a stationery suite for a friend.”

“My new boutique features a gorgeous selection of presentation options and finishing touches along with the option to print their stationery at home.”

“I aim to provide couples with a hassle free way of choosing off-the-peg stationery but with the option to really make it their own.”

What inspires you?

“Gosh. SO much inspires me! The little things in life are always a huge inspiration.”

“My biggest business inspiration is Alex Beadon.”

“Alex took the huge, scary, step of dropping her main talent (photography) to follow her passion instead, which is inspiring in itself, but she also provides amazing business advice.”

Do trends influence your work?

“With The House Collection the range is always reflective of current trends but also allows couples to add dashes of their personality to the design with the customisation options available.”

“With Bespoke, it’s all about getting to know the couple and really injecting their personalities into their stationery.”

“Most of the time this doesn’t fall in line with current trends but that’s what makes working on their brief exciting!”

What is your greatest achievement?

“Without a doubt, I am utterly proud of the fact I run a successful company based on my passion.”

“I started out just working evenings for a few clients, five years later I have a wonderful collection of clients which keeps growing year on year!”

What do you see as the future of your Company?

“To continue to grow as a business, perfect new skills and develop new, exciting stationery options.”

“I have so many new ideas to implement over the next 12 months – my job is such a dream!”
