A beautiful wild coastal elopement inspiration shoot in Devon

Connection is what makes life worth the adventure; sharing those moments, big and small with each other, and this beautiful coastal elopement inspiration shoot captures that intimacy, that spark, that passion.

The styling for this shoot was based on intertwining elements of the coast and woodland.

The windblown, wild and free setting compliments the overall vibe for the shoot which was relaxed, atmospheric and romantic.

Images were captured by Liberty Pearl Photography, and the concept was brought together by an incredible creative team.

The Venue

New Barton Barns is nestled amongst beautiful farm land, woodlands and the coast.

With rustic oak beams, mellow stone walls and a beautiful meadow its sits on the cliff top with breathtaking views overlooking the River Yealm and sea beyond.

Styling

Taking inspiration from these incredible surroundings I wanted to create a tablescape that had a natural minimilisic feel as well as adding luxurious touches.

We used a palette of blues and silvers throughout the styling, and mixed in a few deeper, richer colours to add contrast and texture.

Stationery

Handmade paper and a touch of gold foil gave the stationery a fine art look.

Taking inspiration from the sea and painting with watercolours gave texture and depth to the design which was finished off perfectly with some classic calligraphy for a whimsical romantic feel.

Floral Designs

Creative inspiration for the floral design came from an idea n idea of creating a real intimacy to the elopement.

Using a very warm , evocative set of rooms and the wild openness we created something textured , very feminine and soft

The softness of foliages found near the coastline and the billowing cloud forms that are so much part of this environment provided inspiration for the tablescape.

For such private intimate moments it felt right to use gentle fine and billowing shapes to create closeness.

Using flora that is seasonal, local and avoiding the use of plastic is a great opportunity to demonstrate you can create something stunning , poetic and still tick the ethical box.

Jewellery

The beautiful coastal inspired  jewellery – rings and cufflinks were just perfect for this shoot, with the designs being  inspired by the coast.

We wanted every item on the shoot to reflect the beautiful setting we were immersed in.

Wedding Gowns

Our beautiful wedding dresses were as free spirited as we could find, with stunning layers that blew freely in the forceful coastal winds! They featured a hint of colour that could appeal to the non traditional bride.

 Hair and Make Up

Our hair and make up choices were windswept and wild to reflect the vast open landscape, stormy coastlines and untamed cliff top winds!

Wedding Cake

We wanted to keep the wedding cake understated and coastal inspired.

We had 2 designs, the first a delicious tall buttercream cake with textured buttercream i  smokey blues and greys to represent the crashing ocean waves, he second a pretty blue marbled cake embellished with lunaria seeds.

A beautiful BTS shoot film…
