A crazy, fun and colourful Trash the Dress shoot at The Barns East Yorkshire

Sometimes you just need to inject some colour into your life and this crazy, fun and colourful Trash the Dress shoot at The Barns East Yorkshire sprinkles a whole myriad of rainbow shades.

Images were captured by All You Need is Love Photography with the collaboration of a fabulous creative team…

Becki, the photographer says of the shoot…

“I met the lovely Katherine of Kate’s Bridal Room, at Ripon Cathedral whilst photographing a wedding fair there.”

“It only took a few minutes of chatting to realise we are both wedding crazies and love anything outside the wedding box.”

I was admiring the rails of gorgeous dresses whilst she told me about her wedding dress business.”

“That’s when we started talking about creating a styled shoot to show them off to future brides, but it had to be something fun and different.!!

“As soon as she mentioned the words, “coloured powder” I was sold. Katherine had a few damaged but still adorable dresses that needed to be brought back to life in colour and glory one last time.”

“With our mutual love for fun and colour, she suggested a trashing the dress style shoot. It seemed a great way to make use of the dresses and to create some great photos.”

“I found The Barns, East Yorkshire, online and contacted them, the owners there are incredibly lovely people.”

“They are a brand new wedding venue and at that point hadn’t opened their doors to the public just yet. They held their first wedding this summer, shortly after our shoot.”

“Jo of Knot & Bloom made some funky headpieces to compliment our dresses and finish the look off.”

“We had the hilarious and talented Claire Slater Flowers with us on the day. Every image you see where the girls are laughing, that’s her. She created youthful, fun and inexpensive Gerbera posies for the brides.”

“3 of 4 of the models are also brides-to-be themselves and absolutely loved getting dressed up and having a ball.”

“We used UK regulated coloured powder, the stuff used at colour runs to bring that splash of colour to proceedings.”

“From the photography point of view, I coordinated the day and made sure we used all the different backdrops around the farm.”

“The images had to be fun and creative and quirky.”

“It was a true pleasure working with all the ladies involved.”
