A dark dramatic autumnal inspired bridal shoot at Trenoweth House

Conveying a certain dark dramatic seasonal glamour this lush autumnal inspired bridal shoot was shot at the stunning Trenoweth House.

Images were captured by Olivia Whitbread Roberts and the collaboration of an incredible creative team.

Olivia says of the shoot…

This was my last styled shoot of the season and it was great to get my teeth into photographing something so rugged and dark, with autumnal influence.

The shoot was organised by Tara, owner of The Bridal Studio; an award winning Bridal boutique in the heart of Cornwall, supplying modern Wedding dresses from designers Wendy Makin, to Aire Beach.

The Coach house at Grade II-listed former vicarage, Trenoweth House was the location for our shoot, with the interior of the main house boasting impressive historic features including period fireplaces, mullioned windows, granite stone floors and exposed stone walls.

A perfect backdrop for our contemporary styled shoot.

Taras two daughters, Amelia and Megan beautifully modelled a collection of dresses, with the hair effortlessly styled into chic up-do’s by another award winner, ‘Simply Weddings’ and ‘Simply Bridal Hair’ owner Andrea.

I have worked on Andrea on endless shoots and know that she puts her absolute all into her up-do’s. Always pushing boundaries and working without limitations, Andrea makes sure to move to the beat of her own drum, making each up-do completely original.

Headpieces were added from ‘Blushing Flamingos’ to really cement the theme of bridal within the shoot.

Each piece they create is handmade using the highest quality materials such as Swarovski crystals, Swarovski diamantes and freshwater pearls to make exquisite pieces.

With the shoot being set in the heart of Autumn it called for an autumnal makeup colour palette.

Verity created a makeup mood board for the shoot with looks in mind she wanted to create.

Using warm rusty browns and plum tones both models had slightly different looks.

Verity created a deeper toned look on Amelia with deep plum lips and golden brown eyes. Model Megan had a more traditional bridal makeup look but still with autumnal rusty brown tones and terracotta lips.

The Cake & styling followed the same Autumnal theme, with a beautiful 3 tier cake crafted by ‘Simply Baked Cornwall’.

Josie, as a cake designer strives to offer something a little off the mainstream as well as creating something beautiful to look at. Lemon & elderflower, chocolate and local beer, chocolate and beetroot, are just some of the unique flavours that her cakes offer.

The beautiful table styling was produced by local Wedding planner Victoria Williams.

The addition of flowers are always paramount to any styled shoot & we were lucky enough to have a beautiful bouquet crafted by ‘Sweet Pea Floral Studio’.

The photographs were shot in my usual moody style; I always look for layers and rugged backdrops in order to add more of a ‘rural’ look to a styled shoot.

I feel that the dark backgrounds make the whites and textures of the bridal outfits pop, really bringing the model and the details into focus.
