Today I am excited to share this stunning Byron Bay Hot Air Balloon Elopement Shoot.
Images were captured by Kylie at Just for Love Photography with a fabulous team of creatives.
Kylie Maree is an international wedding photographer, living in Brisbane, Australia with her partner, Nick.
Since the inception of her business, Kylie has photographed countless weddings, travelled the world to document love, made memories to last a lifetime and fearlessly chased her dreams.
For the first time since she was a little girl, she is dreaming without boundaries, letting imagination steer the direction of her life and is fiercely proud of what she and Nick are creating together.
Together they photograph weddings in a romantic, free & relaxed style and ensure that your first day as husband and wife is documented perfectly, so you can look back at it for the rest of your life.
Kylie shares her recollections of this amazing shoot…
“Anyone that knows me well might tell you that I have a pretty active imagination.”
“From when I was a little girl imagining fairies & dragons (yes, I was that type of kid!) to even now, imagining & designing concepts in my head for my couples – whether that be for them to try themselves or just be inspired by.”
“This was that type of shoot…”
“I had dreamt about photographing a bride & groom with a hot air balloon for years – ever since I saw the movie UP (one of my faves, thanks Pixar!) but I wanted this to have a happy ending, without any tears & heartbreak (that movie always makes me ugly cry!)”
“Centred around two people, crazy in love – wanting to elope but not wanting to sacrifice beautiful moments – we gathered in the Byron Bay hinterland to document them promising their love to each other for the rest of their days.”
“Intimate, romantic & simply beautiful…”
“I hope that this inspires engaged couples to think outside the box and not settle for the ‘we have to’ because it’s ‘always done.’ I hear those words way too often!”
“Our gorgeous Celebrant Kate from Inner Circle Ceremonies was on standby in case they wanted to really marry – or so we joked – which I think make Jackson a little nervous.”
“We took some portraits on the gravel road which leads to the Tyagarah airstrip, home of Byron Bay Ballooning… how pretty is that light and those florals. I was in heaven!”
“Then it was time…”
“Fully inflated, we all climbed inside the balloon to take the photos I’d only dreamt about.”
“Needless to say, I was pretty giddy with excitement – and there were loads of squeals from all the girls involved.”
“Afterwards, we made our way back down to the picnic scene Ngaire from The Event Stylist & Co had created, adorned with florals, silks and hand illustrated place cards – it was almost too pretty! (if there is such a thing!)”
See this beautiful film in glorious technicolour by Fable House Films…
Isn’t it magnificent.
I love the delicacy of the intimate ceremony and portraits against the boldness of the vibrant colours of the hot air balloon.
I am so incredibly blessed too that when I renew my vows this coming July Kylie will be there to capture some wonderful memories for us and for that I am truly grateful…
