Today I am thrilled to share Urban Gypsy Couture, a colourful, edgy and artistic urban wedding shoot.
Styling of the day was by Michelle of Unveiled Weddings and Events with an amazing collaborative team
Images were captured by Blackbean Photography.
I hand over to Christina Mays of The Boho Barbie to tell you about the inspiration behind the shoot…
“The main idea for the shoot was to capture glam against grit with intertwined boho elements, such as the dream catcher inspired bouquet…feather hairpiece…etc.”
“I designed and made the two piece (enormous gown) myself and included our photographer’s urban style canvas paintings that I turned into ruffles.”
“It’s a very unique and edgy piece but this team decided, go big or go home.”
“The beauty of this shoot is that even though it may not appeal to every bride’s style, it both embraces the bride that wants to be completely unique and over-the-top, and yet has plenty of classy and elegant features to pull inspiration from.”
“The decor, florals, and cake were all a perfect example of this!”
Being alternative in your wedding plans or look means you don’t have to categorise yourself with a genre or theme to have a great Wedding, you just have to stay true to yourselves.
While your Big Day might have similarities to others, it is instictively your own as there is no-one the same as you as a couple.
And my view of “Alternative Weddings” means putting your own stamp or spin on things on it.
Wherever your inspiration comes from. it all comes down to what is right for you, and not anyone elses opinion about what particular sector of Weddings is best, or coolest, or defining.
You just have to be your own brand of Special !
This shoot shows a bold fearless bride who sees happiness in beautiful technicolour.
The colourful styling is exquisite against the gritty urban background and the team have done an incredible job in capturing this outstanding urban wedding shoot.
