Today I am thrilled to spotlight on Anna’s Bakes, creator of bespoke, unique, naked wedding cakes, perfect for your special occasion or Wedding.
With layer upon layer of brownie or blondie with fresh whipped cream or marshmallow, its a taste that dreams are made of, and the dieters very worst nightmare.
I hand over to the lovely Anna to tell you all about her flourishing Business…
Who are you, and what do you do?
“I am Anna, owner of Anna’s Bakes.”
“Anna’s Bakes creates unique, bespoke dessert style Naked Wedding Cakes. Using either a Brownie or a Blondie cake filled with a fresh cream or Marshmallow filling.”
When and why did you start your Company?
“Anna’s Bakes started almost two years ago, 6 months after I had created my first ever naked brownie cake, for a friends wedding.”
“My friend and I had stumbled upon the Naked Wedding Cake trend.”
“She also loved my brownies and asked if I thought I could do my brownies in that style, and so the naked brownie cake was born.”
“I have since gone on to create new flavours and fillings. I also cater for special diets with gluten and dairy free options.”
What inspires you?
“My clients inspire me, I love creating brownies and blondies tailored to the bride and grooms favourite desserty flavour.”
“The most recent flavours that I loved creating have been the carrotcake blondie which I teamed with a cream cheese/whipped cream hybrid, and then there was the black forest gateaux brownie.”
Do trends influence your work?
“Absolutely, Naked cakes are the heart and sole of my business but the flavours and textures of my creations are key so I am always looking out for different flavour combinations.”
“As well as brides asking me to create something that follows a trend they have seen and love.”
“I am creating gorgeous little individual brownies filled with tinted marshmallow and topped with edible crystallised flowers for a wedding in a couple of months.”
What is your greatest achievement?
“It has to be seeing my cakes featured in Conde Naste Brides magazine, it is such an aspirational and stylish bridal magazine.”
“I was delighted to be asked to create two of my cakes for the photoshoot, and so excited seeing my cakes appear on the same page as Peggy Porschen, the queen of wedding cakes.”
What do you see as the future of your Company?
“I plan to continue to create brownie and blondie naked cakes as well as to develop desserty wedding centre pieces, like croquembouche.”
“I have a booking for one of these in a few months time, and I would love to do something similar with mini meringues which look and taste fantastic.”
“Ultimately though, I would love to publish a book with my recipes within it and take Anna’s Bakes international!”
How completely gorgeous are these, amazing things can happen when cake gets naked.
The simplicity of the design makes it all the more alluring, and they taste awesome too.
How fabulous too that those with dietary intolerances are catered for with gluten and dairy free alternatives.
Naked Wedding cakes are a brilliant alternative to the more traditional wedding cake.
