Beautifully designed wedding stationery from Swoon at The Moon

Today I am delighted to shine the spotlight on the beautifully designed wedding stationery  of Swoon at The Moon.

Swoon at The Moon are Matthew and Leanne, a husband and wife team, and they live in a quiet market town on the edge of Dartmoor with their 1 year old daughter.

They previously worked within a small team at a leading wedding stationery company up until April 2014.

Then using their passion and experience, they decided to set up their own stationery company, offering unique, stylish and fun designs for all special occasions.

I had a chat with the blossoming brand to find out all about them, and what they do…

Who are you, and what do you do?

“We are Leanne & Matthew Fogarty from Swoon at the Moon and we design, personalise, print and post Wedding and Celebration Stationery from Save the Date Magnets to Beer Mats to Newborn Nursery Prints.”

When and why did you start your Company?

“We started Swoon at the Moon in May of this year after being made redundant and having a bit of a “now or never” moment.”

“We’d always dreamed of working for ourselves and we had envisaged this being a B&B or a café but here we are doing paper pretties and we absolutely love it!”

What inspires you?

“In short, everything! If you take a look at our work, you can see that we are able to adapt and be influenced by anything from vintage teacups to seasons to geometric patterns.”

“We love taking on bespoke orders and creating beautiful stationery from other people’s colours, ideas and themes for their big day.”

Do trends influence your work?

“Trends definitely influence our work.”

“The wedding industry moves and evolves constantly and we know we have to do our best to stay ahead of the game to ensure that our stationery is relevant, modern and fresh.”

“For the last few years the wedding industry has been quite vintage focussed and this is still extremely popular but there has definitely been a recent shift toward a more modern and minimalist approach with, for example, succulents becoming a very trendy feature.”

What is your greatest achievement?

“Despite only being in business for a few months, the industry itself has been very positive toward us.”

“We’ve had lots of encouragement from fellow stationers and other businesses that are well established within the industry.”

“The cherry on the cake for us in our first year however, has to be being asked by Wedding Ideas magazine to provide all of the event stationery for their British Wedding Awards in January.”

“We’re very excited to be attending too!”

What do you see as the future of your Company?

“In the future we’d like to be more of a one-stop shop for all celebration stationery, not just weddings.”

“We’ve added a few Children’s Room Prints and Party Invitations to our repertoire recently and have some Baby Shower Invitations on the way too.”
