Supplier Spotlight – Bish Bosh Becca

Today I am delighted to share the work of Sarah Jane of Bish Bosh Becca.

From classic timeless pieces to  modern and contemporary designs, Bish Bosh Becca creates beautiful designs both for Bridal and for everyday wear.

Bish Bosh Becca is named in honour of her daughter, who is now in her teens. When she was much younger she seemed incapable of moving anywhere without falling over, so was nicknamed, Bish Bosh Becca.

I had a chat with Sarah Jane to find out more about her Business,

What is it you do, and what services do you offer?

“I design and make jewellery both contemporary pieces and also more traditional designs. You will find dainty pearl and sterling silver pendants to cluster necklaces with crystal charms, delicate chain bracelets to chunky cuff bracelets, stud and drop earrings plus many, many more.”

“If someone sees something they sort of like but want it in a different colour or length, or they want this part of that necklace and part of another, then I can work them to create the perfect piece.”

“If a Bride is looking for the perfect gift for the smaller members of their bridal party, then I also offer many of the items, available in our main range, in miniature. These also make perfect gifts at Christenings.”

When, and why did you start your business?

“I started over 6 years ago. My Mother had a lot of her jewellery stolen and I knew I could not replace it. I saw in a craft magazine a cheap crochet bracelet with plastic beads aimed at children. I thought I could make it in gold plated wire with the stone used in her favourite bracelet that was stolen. She loved it.”

“Then my husband made the mistake of going overseas for 6 months and he came home to a house full of beads. So Bish Bosh Becca was born.”

What inspires you ?

“It sounds a bit daft but all the wonderful people I meet in this industry and also things I see around me. I might see colours put together and think that would make a superb necklace, so I have a play and create it.
I used to worry that would not be inspired to create new designs but something always came to me or caught my eye, but not always at the most convenient time! I have learnt to go with the flow and not to worry about it. More often then not I can’t make the new designs quick enough as several come to me at once.”

What has been your favourite assignment, and why ?

I do enjoy creating bespoke pieces for brides and their bridesmaids. I love it when brides realise they are not constrained and they can have a piece that is perfect to them. I also really enjoy their reaction when they receive it, although it can be nerve wracking wondering if I have created what was in their minds eye.”

Whats your greatest achievement ?

“Making the decision to do Bish Bosh Becca full time and give up the day job.”

Whats the future for your Business ?

I would like to see it grow but still maintain the level of service that I provide now. I have just created a very affordable range of jewellery that I hope will help brides afford lovely wedding jewellery for all their bridesmaids as well as themselves. Prices start as £16 for a sterling silver and swarovski pearl and crystal necklace which I am quite proud of.”

I adore these designs, all delicately sophisticated and a beautiful injection of colour for the stylish Bridesmaid or the Bride wanting something something a little less Bridal.

As well as Bridal, the Everyday jewellery ranges have something for everyone and I am coveting quite a few, especially the Statement pieces.

All items will are sent beautifully gift wrapped  in a matt black gift box tied with satin ribbon. A gift card is enclosed with every order. The childrens range is sent in amethyst coloured boxes.
