To close the year on the Blog I am thrilled to share the brand new 2015 collection from from Multi Award Winning Bridal Jewellery & Wedding Hair Accessories brand Chez Bec.
I have long been a fan of this incredible company, a small team thoroughly obsessed with weddings, Christmas and chocolate, and the odd cheeky gin!
I am also delighted to highlight a fantastic Giveaway of a £100 voucher to Plans and Presents readers.
Images of the Collection shoot were captured by Claudine Hartzel Photography.
Harriet Rouse of Chez Bec says of the Collection shoot…
“The wedding industry is such a special place to work, and I feel amazed that something that I design and make makes up a part of a couple’s special day.”
“Our shoot team is a bunch of the most wonderful ladies.”
“Everyone is happy to share their expertise and we all come together and create something that we’re happy with, learning from each other whilst eating lots of cake).”
“Our last shoot at St Clere was such a pared back palate, and we never thought we’d top it.”
“I became a woman obsessed with finding a really ‘edgy’ and different backdrop.”
“I was sending Becks links to warehouses in London. At one point I think I sent through a Martello Tower somewhere near the South Coast, and these AMAZING underground tunnels… my they were edgy… and then there was Dungeness Lighthouse…”
“Then Becks pointed out that we really needed SOME natural light… and that perhaps, however edgy and lovely it was, somewhere with a LOO might be an idea.”
“And really, I’m not a very nice person without caffeine, so either somewhere near a coffee shop, OR somewhere with the opportunity to plug in a kettle (and hair straighteners) might be a good idea…”
“I think that really sums up our working relationship to a tee… while I’m happiest in my creative element, sometimes I need my crazy designer feet pulling back down to earth (just enough!).”
“So me and my edgy impractical locations had a think… and Becks put out a request for venues on our Facebook page, and were lucky enough that one of our brides suggested The House Meadow.”
“The House Meadow is a beautiful venue in the heart of Kent. It’s been in the same family for 100s of years, and the venue offers an incredible backdrop.”
“Limited to 12 weddings a year, there is a barn that can accommodate the vows and the party, but there’s also a huge plot PERFECT for a marquee/tipi etc… as well as a gazebo over the lake where vows can be exchanged.”
“It’s idyllic, and such a blank canvas for couples to create THEIR vision.”
“After our site visit Becks was excited about the swing (we both love the film Slipper and the Rose, and I think our 5-year old Cinderella complexes came out).”
“I, on the other slightly less practical hand, had visions of launching the boat (complete with model) into the water lilies, her dress flowing over the edges, creating some sort of modern day (and less depressing and dying) Ophelia.”
“Fortunately for all involved, the boat had no oars, saving both the beautiful dresses and my artistic vision from failure!”
“The hair was done by Liz at Simply Beautiful Wedding hair…”
“We had four different hair looks – the first look was a combination of the contemporary braids of the season and a classic chignon, the second was a soft, wavy, mix of Marilyn Monroe and natural with a boho vibe, the third was a very loose, romantic knot with gently waved hair, softly draped back and pinned at the nape.”
“Our final look was a take on an Edwardian up do, and it was the perfect contrast to the softness of the Naomi Neoh dress.”
“Lara Crudgington, our Make-up artist, created three looks – For the autumnal wild meadow shots she wanted Sophie’s makeup to have a slightly bohemian feel to it to tie in with her hair, accessories and her dress – taupe smokey eyes, bronzed cheeks, Bardot-eqsue lips and accents of gold on her inner eyes.”
“For the swing and interior barn shots Lara wanted to keep the makeup soft and romantic – glowing and natural with rose pink lips, but with definition to the brows and lashes.”
“And for the boat and for shots with the horses in the background she wanted a stronger look so added emphasis to the eyes and added a touch of a gorgeous berry colour to her lips.”
“Lara at Darling & Wild’s brief was pretty vague. ‘Crazy and organic’ for one bouquet, ‘floral stuff’ to dress the boat and swing, ‘something with peach in’ to go with our the Naomi Neoh shots, and finally a specific request ‘gypsophelia.’”
“The trailing bouquet was simple passion flower vines with Astilbe Washington and coral fern to edge.”
“And the peachy floral bouquet had a base of green hydrangea with scabious, Sweet Avalanche roses, Pepita and Jana spray roses and pittosporum.”
“Dotted around the barn were bud vases with single stems of Astilbe Washington and stems Vivienne white spray roses (all homed in beautiful bud vases and bottles borrowed from the venue)”
“Isabella Grace, our sister company and Award-winning boutique, came to the shoot with a boot packed of the prettiest of pretty dresses and veils by Naomi Neoh, Eliza Jane Howell, LM by Lusan Mandongus and La Sposa.”
“We were able to pick each for a distinct look and pair it with the perfect accessories and styling.”
“For Chez Bec’s 2015 collection of accessories, we’ve really tried to give our brides what THEY want.”
“Our Penelope range, which includes the headband in the Poppy meadow is named after Claudine’s youngest daughter who was born this year.
We made matching pins, a vine and bracelet.”
“We’ve also extended our floral range and painstakingly added beaded details to their centre, which can be seen in the jewelled Bella flowers (we’ve also taken a step outside our ivory comfort zone… this was not an easy step!).”
“Our Pandora Backlace has been hugely popular this summer, so we added matching earrings and a bracelet, and created our second back lariat – the Blossom. It’s shorter, sweeter, and at £44 significantly less money.”
“And pins. Pins, pins and more pins. Because they offer utter versatility, and there has not been a day that I’ve not had an order for some.”
“So more choice so that more brides can find the perfect look for them.”
