I had a wee chat to the maker of this paper pretty and fellow Scot Catherine to find out more about her lovely Business.

Paper Delights

Who are you, and what do you do?

“My name is Catherine Gorman and I am the owner of Paper Delights. I design pretty, romantic, floral inspired stationery for brides and grooms looking for something a little bit different.”

When and why did you start your Business?

“I started Paper Delights in late 2010 when I was planning my own wedding.   I was working as a florist as the time but was looking for a change.”

“I loved designing my own stationery and it really felt like it could be the dream job, I began sketching out new designs and from their Paper Delights began.”

Where are you based?

“I am based in Edinburgh but offer stationery throughout the UK (and internationally if required).”

“I generally work with my couples through email and over the phone which works really well but I also love to have customers round to my studio to discuss their stationery where we can get to know each other and discuss their ideas over some tea and cake!”

What inspires you ?

“I’m inspired by so many things.  Of course everything floral, a gorgeous bloom or a pretty piece of fabric. I love vintage, art nouveau, pretty typography and so much more.”

“I’m also inspired by my couples who always have such great ideas for their stationery, working together we can create some gorgeous designs which are unique to them as a couple.”

Whats your greatest accomplishment ?

“I think my biggest achievement is really getting my business up and running.  It’s amazing to be able to do what I love everyday as my job and to hear how much people like my designs.”

“I never thought when I was younger that people would be paying money for my artwork!”

What is the future for Paper Delights?

“There are so many different things that I would love to offer.  The biggest thing is a DIY section of my website.”

“Budget is always a major factor when it comes to weddings and there are so many couples that would like fun and unique stationery without the price tag. ”

“I’d love to be able to offer some of my designs in a DIY format where I provide all the pieces of the design and they can put it together.”

What makes you different ?

“All my designs are created using my own illustrations.  Each design can be tailor made changing colour, card and fonts to suit a variety of tastes.  I also offer hand painted designs creating invites with a really personal touch and something that is extra special for their day.”

“As well as my current collections I also offer a completely bespoke service designing all  the couples stationery based on their ideas, themes and colour scheme, working closely with clients to create the perfect stationery for their big day.”

“I like to think that whatever a client is looking for I can offer and I love the challenge of working on something new and different.”

Thanks to Catherine for sharing her beautiful designs. I am particularly fond of the Hydrangea as its one of my favourite blooms and the blue in the design is bold while still maintaining a delicate ambience….Gorgeous.
