Today I am thrilled to spotlight on EveryDayHappy – Mentoring programmes and resources for the Wedding Industry.
EverydayHappy isn’t just a business resource, it’s also a huge dose of motivation, inspiration, and the knowledge you need to create a life you dream of using your business.
Charlie Kingsland Barrow doesn’t believe running a business is about working 24 hours a day, in a stressful environment – if you wanted to do that you might as well go and work in a job in the City.
EverydayHappy is about growing your business + living your dream life on your own terms.
I had a wee chat with Charlie to find out more…..
Who are you, and what do you do?
“Hi I’m Charlie! I provide business mentoring, training programmes and resources for businesses within the wedding & creative industries.”
“I am beyond passionate about helping photographers and creative business owners to succeed and reach their maximum potential.”
“Nothing makes me more excited than equipping others with the ability to create the lifestyle they dream of !”
“I write about growing your business over on my blog EverydayHappy.”
“I am a successful photographer (featured on Style Me Pretty) and work as Marketing Director of contemporary wedding style blog b.loved.”
When and why did you start your Company?
“I’ve been in the wedding industry for five years; firstly with my luxury accessory company which was stocked in boutiques around the world and featured in national print magazines, and now with my photography business and my marketing work for b.loved.”
“A lot of friends were starting to ask for my advice on growing their own businesses, and I realised that my businesses had become successful in a very short time frame.”
“I attribute this to my education and previous employment within Marketing – I actually started out as a Press and Marketing Assistant when I was just 16 years of age, so I’ve built up substantial experience- which I realised I could really use to help others.”
“I’ve known for a long time that I have wanted to help businesses to grow, I just wasn’t sure how I could.”
“Then this year for the first time I created my blog EverydayHappy to help others via a series of articles, took on the role as Marketing Director with b.loved, and took on my first round of mentoring clients.”
“Within this work I found such happiness and personal satisfaction in assisting others and it’s been completely amazing to watch my mentorees’ businesses transform and grow.”
“I can’t wait to help grow more businesses and have so many exciting plans in store to be able to achieve this!”
What inspires you?
“This year as a family we achieved our dream of working together as a family.”
“My husband left his job with no intention of returning, in order to work together on my business.”
“We have weekends off, Thursday afternoons off, and eat three meals a day together as a family most days.”
“We are location-free and are planning on spending some of this coming Winter overseas.”
“In short, we are living our dream life, thanks to my business. This inspires me to reach out and help others, every single day.”
“Because I know what it is like to worry about money. I understand the hardship of working for yourself and the hard slog that entails.”
“I truly understand being one half of a marriage (and parenting duo) where the other person leaves the house at the crack of dawn and isn’t back until late.”
I understand that deep desire to have a business that is successful on so many levels, for so many reasons.
“If I can help others to achieve their personal dreams – whether that is a wildly financial prosperous business, location-freedom, or whatever your personal dream + reason for being in business might be, then I am continually inspired, because I know how much that means, to be able to achieve your dreams.”
“My photography work is inspired by notions of romance and by the look and feel of film.”
“I’ve shot film for over ten years but only started shooting weddings with it two years ago and I’ve fallen in love with it all over again.”
“Obviously, I also love pretty, soft, warm afternoon light, cool blue mornings, travel, and books. I am a total bookworm!”
Do trends influence your work?
“I wouldn’t say I look to trends to be directly inspired by them, but I do think it is important to have an awareness of what trends are in existence, in your field so that you can meet at the point where your personal style and your clients requirements can co-exist in one happy place.”
“Visually though I think it is important to not create within current trends but instead look outward for inspiration.”
“It’s a scary thing making a decision to be different, and stand apart from the crowd, but it is vital if you want to carve a name for yourself and stand out.”
“Have you read Purple Cow? It’s all about being different and not following trends.”
What is your greatest achievement?
“Pain-free childbirth! Haha! Seriously, I rave on to anyone and everyone about hypnobirthing.”
“But really, writing my first book was one of my greatest achievements as it has been a dream of mine for such a long time.”
What do you see as the future of your Company?
“Oh I have SO many exciting plans for the future of EverydayHappy.”
“My next round of mentoring programmes opens shortly – I only open a handful of places at each round and places have already been booked despite not being even open for pre-registration yet!”
“I am also hard at work on my second book – which is all about marketing for photographers and creative business owners.”
“I’ve had so much interest about this one and I am beyond excited about releasing it.”
“I am also planning something huge for October.”
“October is my birthday month and I wanted to do something entirely fabulous for it this year, so I have something in mind… but like all good birthday surprises I can’t reveal exactly what yet!”
“Just make sure you sign up to the list on my site so you’ll get all the details in full as and when they are released. If you want to grow your business, you’ll want to keep an eye out for this.”
“Eventually I also want to use EverydayHappy to not just make a change in the lives of women in business, but to empower and uplift women all over the world, in many different circumstances.”
“It’s a grand goal, but I believe that lots of tiny steps in the right direction can make a huge difference.”
Thank you so much to Charlie for telling us all about EveryDayHappy and her business mentoring programmes.
We all have something within us, and sometimes that just needs a wee bit of encouragement and guidance to come out.
I think even these words are empowering, stoking a fire within us that has been on a slow burn but is ready be an inferno within our soul to take our businesses to the next level.
