Today I am thrilled to share the gorgeous Sarah Janks A/W 2015/16 “Elan” Bridal Wear Collection.
The SJ Bride is a study in nonchalance, she moves from sophisticated to sexy with ease.
Her wardrobe is a playground of silk and texture with which she expresses who she is in that moment.
A beautiful contrast of strong and vulnerable, she is confident. She is unique, and these fashion influenced contemporary gowns epitomise this woman.
Luxury bridal designer Sarah Janks recently unveiled her stunning new collection for Autumn Winter 15/16, titled Élan.
Verve and vivacity set the tone for the collection, marking a bolder, more defined season for the designer.
Meticulous seam work, draping cuts and delicate necklines are met with structured yet fluid styles that redefine the modern bride.
The sophisticated, sensuous undertone is mirrored in the fluid silk crepes and satins that dominate the collection; while the perfectly-matched bridal accessories make for the most exquisite finishing touches.
Among the collection are a fluffy silk organza jacket, scarf, cape and shrug, offering brides with a timeless addition to their bridal dress.
The silver and ivory palette is continued throughout the collection with intricate beading and crystals; while four distinct belt styles provide an accessory that creates drama and flare against a classic and simply elegant dress.
Motivated by a passion for couture, Sarah immersed herself in the technical aspects of construction, draping and patternmaking at the London International School of Fashion (South Africa).
Following graduation, Sarah left home for London and a tailoring apprenticeship at Kashkets.
Steeped in the city’s culture, Sarah thrived, honing her aesthetic with fashion luminaries including Jenny Packham, Jonathan Saunders and Hamish Morrow.
However, it was while working with Roland Mouret as a creative design assistant and pattern cutter that Sarah’s meticulous approach found its muse.
Recalling Marlene Dietrich’s glamour gowns, Sarah devised a design marrying fit, cut, imagination and Roland’s draping genius. The collaboration produced one of the decade’s most iconic shapes – the Galaxy dress.
In 2006, Sarah moved to Sydney, Australia to raise her family. Seeking to produce a collection of effortless, fashion-influenced bridal gowns, Sarah launched Tempus, her first collection, in 2011 to critical acclaim.
Now the Élan collection adds to Sarah’s esteemed body of work which, since her debut collection has gained global recognition and can now be found in 28 stores worldwide with a flagship store in Sydney, Australia.
