Today I am thrilled to share the exquisite 2019 Couture Wedding Dress Collection by Joyce Young.
Images are by Tanya Kiaie.
Joyce Young OBE launched her company By Storm in 1993 having been a designer in the fashion industry since graduating from the prestigious Glasgow School of Art in 1975.
She is married to Maurice and together they are passionate about the wedding business which they have built over the past 20 years.
Joyce’s gift for colour, fabric, style and detail give the outfits she creates a very distinctive look that is instantly recognisable as a “Joyce Young” design.
Backed by a loyal and talented team of experts in styling, pattern cutting, sewing and fitting, together her team will create the dress of your dreams.
Joyce has also brought her Scottish heritage to the fashion world with Tartan Spirit, a range of flamboyant designs using silk or wool tartans for weddings and special occasions.
Joyce says of the Collection shoot…
We captured the images for our 2019 Couture Wedding Dresses in our Glasgow showroom, and a very talented international team made it all come together.
Our make up artist Tatiana is the most talented make up and hair artist that I know, and she flew over from Berlin where she lives and works.
She in turn recommended the photographer Tanya who originally comes from Moscow but now lives in England.
They are a dynamic and uber talented team and together with our gorgeous model we had a fabulous day starting at early on a Sunday morning and finishing in the evening with a relaxing and well deserved gin and tonic .
Nick from Mood Flowers delivered some stunning flowers and bouquets for the shoot and we were delighted how well he had toned the flowers in with our setting.
Emmy London sent some bridal shoes to compliment our gowns.
We are lucky enough to stock their special occasion suede shoes which are perfect for our Mother of the brides and it was lovely to receive a few different designs for Brides too.
This new collection was inspired by finding an amazing new fabric with glow , body, stretch and drape.
There has been so much lace in the last few years that it was refreshing to design simple elegant styles in plain fabric with clean lines and shapes cut to flatter the figure.
We are blessed too to have a favourite waterfall veil that looks amazing with the simplicity of the dresses.
Of course we have added a bit of lace to the designs but very much with a twist.
The collection will be launched on the catwalk at the Scottish Wedding Show at the SECC on 13th and 14th October .
