They are based in South London.
All of their cakes are unique and custom designed just for the client, and are so pretty they almost look too good to eat.
I hand you over to lady behind these stunning bespoke cakes,
Who are you, and what do you do?
“Hi I’m Ramla and I’m the owner of the Enchanting Cake Company.”
“We primarily create bespoke wedding cakes but also specialise in unique celebration cakes for all occasions.”
When and why did you start your Company?
“From a young age I always had a passion for baking and creating new recipes for my family.”
“I even came top 5 in the UK out of over 3000 candidates for a project on desserts at the age of 16.”
“However I decided on a more practical career path – dentistry!”
“But eventually my original passion caught up with me and I decided to take some cake decorating classes while still working as a dentist.”
“I loved it and from there my passion grew and after some encouragement from my family and friends, I left dentistry and started The Enchanting Cake Company full time in 2013.”
What inspires you?
“Inspiration can come from anywhere – bridal fabric, nature, the fashion world and even wallpaper samples!”
“Often my brides have a very clear idea of what they want by browsing ideas on pinterest and blogs.”
“And that way we can also keep up with current trends as new ideas are always emerging.”
“And if they have no idea where to start, we work together to bring elements of their personality and wedding together to create something very personal to them.”
Do trends influence the products your work?
“Trends definitely influence our latest cake designs as we’re always listening to what brides want.”
“The vintage trend is still going strong with many brides requesting soft pastel colours with lace accents and delicate sugar flowers.”
“Also a popular request this year is for metallic cakes – whether it’s a touch of bling with edible sequins and beads to going all out with a cake covered in 24 carat edible gold leaf.”
What is your greatest achievement?
“In 2012, I entered the Cake and Bake Show competition and came runner up in the non-professional category out of over 50 candidates.”
“Following this achievement and hearing feedback from people at the show, I was inspired to start my own business.”
“The following year I entered again but this time in the professional category.”
“I had only been in business for a month and was so excited when I was awarded first prize!
“Considering many of the entrants had been doing this for years and I was a relative newbie, it was a huge achievement for me.”
“Following the win I was also featured in Delicious magazine.”
What do you see as the future of your Company?
“The last few months have been amazing and I’d like to see my business continue to grow.”
“I love the creative process from designing a wedding cake right through to adding finishing touches. ”
“I’ve also had some requests for classes and tutorials so I’d love to be able to offer them at some point in the future and share my knowledge with others – so watch this space!”
