Today I am thrilled to spotlight on Vintage Lane Bridal, a gorgeous vintage wedding dress boutique in Lancashire.
The boutique holds a truly beautiful collection of genuine vintage wedding dresses for the modern bride & vintage party dresses for glam girls.
I hand over to owner Sybil to tell you all about the Brand…
Who are you, and what do you do?
“My name is Sybil Worsley and I own Vintage Lane Bridal Boutique with my daughter Lauren Worsley. We are based in Bromley Cross, Lancashire.”
“I (Sybil the Mum) have been collecting vintage wedding dresses for over 20 years purely out of my love for fashions through the ages, the fabrics and my love of weddings.”
“Lauren was disillusioned with her admin job and wanted something new so one cold winter night in December 2012 we devised a plan to open our very own vintage bridal boutique!”
When and why did you start your Company?
“Through my love of Weddings I had already collected about 20-30 dresses that just hung in a spare wardrobe, doing nothing although I very often would go up and look at them lovingly.”
“From that day in December we decided to start sourcing more dresses so we spent the next 4-5 Months buying more vintage wedding dresses until we had thought we had enough to open our own boutique.”
“We had around 50 gowns at thet time but now it is more like a 100 in number.”
“Each vintage wedding dress is handpicked by either myself or Lauren, we buy dresses individually never in bulk, we buy dresses we love.”
“I started looking for premises and we found our little boutique shop at The Last drop village set in a converted 18th century farmhouse with cobbled streets & quaint village shops in Bromley Cross Lancashire it was just perfect!”
“It was the perfect location and the perfect size.”
“We spent many nights there painting and setting it up until the Easter weekend 2013 it was ready to open.”
What inspires you?
“I am inspired by successful small independent businesses especially those run by women who take the bullet and do what they love to do as a business model.”
Do trends influence your work?
“Sometimes they do.. for example the 1970s are having a big revivial at the moment and we are definitely getting more boho inspired brides in.”
What is your greatest achievement?
“Our greatest joy is seeing the shop open, and Brides queuing up outside to come in.”
What do you see as the future of your Company?
“I see a great future for our little boutique, we are getting more and more well known as the months go by.”
“Lots of our brides recommend that their friends visit the boutique.”
“All our dresses are totally unique so they can be assured they won’t be buying one the same.”
“We have met 100s of brides to be and have supplied genuine vintage wedding dresses to lots of them, all unique and more importantly all beautiful both the brides and the dresses.”
“We are very proud of our little boutique we offer friendly fun appointments our brides can try on as many dresses as they like with no pressure whatsoever.”
“Our brides are not only vintage loving brides, they are every type of bride looking for a stunning totally unique wedding dress on a budget (all of our gowns are UNDER £350).
Thank you so much to Sylvia for sharing the work of her lovely Vintage wedding dress boutique.
In these times when things that are old are becoming in fashion again the boutique is an amazing outlet to revel in eras of times gone by, at very reasonable prices.
