Today I am thrilled to spotlight on Boclair House Hotel, a beautiful new Glasgow Wedding Venue opening in a few short weeks.
The House, a Grade B Listed building is fronted by landscaped garden grounds which are a local landmark and a favourite spot for wedding photographs.
The doors of Boclair House Hotel in Bearsden will open on March 31 2016.
The hotel will get off to a busy start, with the first wedding taking place in April 2016 and a further 67 weddings and special occasions booked, up until end of 2017.
The building is tudor gothic in style, with a castellated tower and a series of impressive archways creating a covered walkway reminiscent of Italian cloisters.
The building was constructed in 1890, commissioned by three Buchanan sisters of Bellfield.
It was called the Buchanan Retreat and provided accommodation for poorer members of the Buchanan clan in their declining year.
Latterly, it became a home for elderly gentlemen until acquired by the Burgh of Bearsden and opened as the Municipal Buildings by Princess Margaret and Lord Snowdon in 1962.
Most recently the building was used as an office by East Dunbartonshire Council.
Independent Scottish hotel group Manorview Hotels has invested £3m transforming the iconic Grade B listed building, into what promises to be one of Scotland’s most prestigious wedding venues.
Situated at the foot of Boclair Hill and set in two acres of beautifully landscaped gardens Boclair House Hotel will be available for exclusive-use weddings, special occasion dining, celebrations and afternoon tea.
It will have 12 individually styled suites each individually designed and completely unique with bespoke furniture, art deco inspired interiors & free standing copper baths.
The House is a wonderful choice for your wedding ceremony with the opportunity to exchange vows in the picturesque gardens with your guests seated around to witness & to share.
The stunning Grand Ballroom, beautiful and flooded with natural light is a more intimate option for the ceremony.
Boclair also has a stand-alone restaurant serving fresh locally sourced Scottish produce, and the exquisite grand ballroom, will cater for weddings reception parties of up to 160 daytime guests and 200 evening guests.
Managing Director, Steve Graham of Manorview Hotels & Leisure Group said “We are delighted to be opening Boclair House Hotel later this month.“
“It is a stunning venue and we expect to host many happy occasions over the years.”
“ The fact that we already have bookings for 67 weddings and special occasions shows the level of interest in this stunning new venue.”
